I am curious if anyone knows just where Sarah stands on the Fairtax issue. She talks a lot about cutting both taxes and goverment but I have never heard her say anything about the Fairtax.

Comment by Burgener on December 7, 2009 at 7:01am: Maybe we should use the term "GOOOH Certification". A candidate can be of any party, but only one cadidate will have the "GOOOH Certification". It would be kind of like a UL Listing, or sorts.

Comment by morgan davis on December 7, 2009 at 6:53am: It is Mr. Davis and my response is: The Goooh website states multiple times that it is a movement, a process, a plan. And clearly in the mission statement "GOOOH is NOT just another political party. It is a system..." and though I had not heard about a Goooh party being put on the ballot I believe you, being in Houston you probably have been in meetings with Tim and/or met him directly. My understanding is that Goooh is a way to get beyond the labels and just get good representation. So the main goal is to get regular people to go through the screening process, fill out the questionnaire and sign the contract. I guess if they have a Goooh "party" put on the ballot that would be fine but I just get a little nervous referring to it as a party. Rush has a gigantic listener-ship and is always slamming the idea of doing this with a 3rd party. Many people listen to that. after all he is right 99.9% of the time.... I know it would be almost impossible to do but wouldn't it be in everyone's best interest if the Rep. and Dem. Candidates were selected through the Goooh process? I'd hope to see it work that way in the long term. but for 2010 maybe it would have to be a 3rd 4th 5th or 6th party..

I'm a GOOOH supporter in Houston, and I have heard directly from Tim Cox that his intention is for GOOOH candidates to be on the ballot under the GOOOH party label, rather than "any party he/she fits into". The people would not be served honestly if the candidates selected thru the GOOOH system went on the ballot as a Republican or Democrat. There can be no ties to these corrupting influences. It is important to clarify for the doubters that GOOOH is not a typical 3rd party due to the lack of ties to Special Interest $$$, no presidential candidate, no platform (except term limits), etc. But it would be mis-leading to imply that there won't be a GOOOH party (although the GOOOH name will likely be replaced by something more permanent in time for the election).

We understand the desire for GOOOH (pronounced Go) to endorse specific planks in a platform. In order to be able to allow individuals in the different districts to choose someone that represents their voters we won't endorse any specific programs or ideas other than Term Limits. The way to get The Fair Tax (my 3 word answer to all government problems) implemented is to swell the ranks of GOOOH with Fair Tax supporters. If we as Fair Tax supporters overwhelm the GOOOH system we can't be defeated.

Comment by morgan davis on December 3, 2009 at 6:10pm: The GOOOH "party" (which is a mis-statement-it is a movement, not a party) has a major platform that every American should be able to get behind and that is the fact that the candidates will have to pre-state their stance on most of the biggest issues that face this nation. and will not be able to legally vote otherwise if selected. that along with being carefully hand selected by the constituents that participate. what this means is that the citizens would finally have a reliable voice in DC. it is no coincidence that these types of movements:Goooh, Fair Tax, Tea parties..etc, are spreading like wild fire. the conservative and libertarian people of this country are the silent majority. If the people are truly and honestly represented, the fair tax (and a hundred other common-sense policies) will pass through at least the house in an instant. once more people see that it worked well for the house and see that we can make a change it would only be a matter of time before our senate and presidential seats will be filled by true representatives. Goooh is a great step in the right direction. We should not be looking for a "third party" the candidate who answers the questions and signs the Goooh contract can run on any party he/she fits into. they will simply have to be honest and representative of the folks in his or her own district.

Comment by Fellow Patriot on December 3, 2009 at 12:21pm: I've read some of the posts here and I think this documentary I found may be of interest. It is 1.5 hours long and basically states that the 16th amendment was never ratified, the supreme court has several times stated that the income tax is not levied for the exchange of work for wages; instead, for gains and businesses. I guess my question is: if we don't "legally" owe income tax, just get rid of the code and don't replace it with anything. The video states that all income tax goes to paying the interest on the national debt and not for government services, the businesses take care of that. I am 100% in favor of the Fair Tax, if we have to have a tax; but, what safegards do we put in place to keep it at a certain percentage and not allow any level of government to continually raise it to support their uncontrollable spending? Just some thoughts.

Comment by Diane Lewis on December 3, 2009 at 11:33am: My simplest reason for supporting the Fair Tax is that when you tax something, you get less of it. Usually discouraging something is the primary reason for the tax. The current system taxes achievement. Why would the United States of America want to discourage achievement ?

We can't get the corruption out of Congress until we elect Representatives who are independent of special interests and the two parties. GOOOH is an extremely fair and feasible approach to the problem. I encourage ALL Fair Tax people to join GOOOH.com today. We need to take back our country!
