I'm not attacking farmers. I'm trying to highlight the ridiculous situation farmers find themselves in, and the entitlement mentality that develops in all businesses because of the current tax system. Oh, and government waste in particular.)

We're shoveling our taxpayer dollars to Brazilian farmers to make sure we can keep shoveling our taxpayer dollars to American farmers — which is, after all, the overriding purpose of U.S.agricultural policy. Basically, we're paying off foreigners to let us maintain our ludicrous status quo.

That's the story on Time's website last April. About $147.3 Million dollars per year goes to Brazil so we can keep subsidizing mega cotton co-operatives to the tune of $2.27 Billion per year. $147.3 Million is nearly the same as we paid the top 700 recipients in cotton subsidies in 2009.

So what do the American people get from this federal largess? I mean, with Balmoral Farming Partnership located in Tensas Parish, Louisiana receiving $18,657,946 in cotton subsidies alone, and a county population of 6618, you would think residents would be swimming in champagne pools right?

Wrong. Tensas parish was the worst case I could find with 36.3% of the population living below the poverty line. In fact, taken as an average, in the counties these top ten recipients are located in, the average population living in poverty is 18.3%. Compare that with the same year national average of 11.3%

That's right, the Imperial Federal Government is paying $12.25 Million per month to the Brazilian government for the privilege of forking over subsidies to 118,449 farms, co-ops, and mega corporations. This does nothing for the public that low food prices are designed to help, because it takes that money from the pockets of the very people who are most likely to be screwed by high food prices - the people who pay hidden corporate taxes on everything they buy...with every dollar they have. Including the farmers I'm talking about.

But who do you think these recipients are going to donate their time, money, and votes too? A plan that puts them on a level playing field or the politician that's going to hand them gobs of cash every year? With the tax system like it is now, who can they afford to support?

FAIRTAX NOW !!!

Sources: Time, Farm subsidy database, and the 2000 U.S. census.

Taxes are theft (paper's title)
Why are we OK with legalized stealing? I'm sick and tired of hearing about people getting more money back on a tax return than was collected from them! Hello! The government didn't earn that money to give extra, it was taken from someone who got very little to nothing back from all they paid in. The government didn't earn that money to give extra, it was taken from someone who got very little to nothing back from all they paid in. That, Americans, is our government's legalized form of stealing.
The money "above" the amount you had withheld was taken from another hardworking American citizen and given to you because of the 67,000 pages of tax code that manipulate us each year. It manipulates us because we do certain things to get tax credits, are penalized when we can't or don't do those things, which means we don't get a tax credit.
We the people have legislation that'll stop this direct syphoning of our paychecks. The FairTax! To learn more go to www.fairtaxnation.com. Stop being manipulated and see your paycheck increase when FICA, Medicare, Federal Withholding is put back into every paycheck on every payday. Go add those up see how much your paycheck will increase under the FairTax, I did! Now that is true stimulus! What Businees would want to invest in a place that skims 20% off the top? On July 11th, 2008, Obama made a statement while speaking in the continent of Africa. He was talking about corruption and bribes, but it mirrors what is happening here, whether your a repubican, democrat, independent, constitutionalists (which we should all be, by the way) or a nadorite/Perototite. You get the idea. Quote: "No business wants to invest in a place where the government skims 20% off the top". End quote.
Well I'll be hornswaggled. He finally got it right. So why are you taxing…

Well I'll be hornswaggled. He finally got it right. So why are you taxing Private Business? And isn't any business supposed to be private? Go Fair Tax.
I'm shocked that people were ok with the 90% taxation of the AIG executives. The reality that due to the wording of the 16th Amendment Congress could legislate us to pay 90% "ALLOWING" us to keep 10%. It's Time to get educated about the FairTax!! Legislation that has companion legislation to repeal the 16th Amendment. www.fairtax.org AND www.fairtaxnation.com for more information.
Whhooops just a few words ...
Stimulus 2? ONLY if it is the FairTax Legislation! Stimuliating the economy happens when WORKERS are rewarded by their hard work, when businesses have lower taxes. The best thing about FairTax is it does both in a BIG way! Businesses will pay 0 payroll taxes!! Employees will NO LONGER have FICA, MEDICARE or Federal Withholding taken out of their paychecks EVERY payday! HMMMM wonder how many workers don't even KNOW how much the total of those three withholdings total. Which is EXACTLY what the politicians "bank on" as they increase taxes, syphon our paychecks and we continue on oblivious. IT's TIME...
for legislation PRO-ALL AMERICANS!! www.fairtax.org & www.fairtaxnation.com Letters to the Editor (let the legal plagerism begin) :)tag:www.fairtaxnation.com,2009-06-24:2636007:Topic:654062009-06-24T04:37:17.306ZJamie Wheeler WAhttp://www.fairtaxnation.com/profile/Jamie
Ready for FairTax

Are you tired of trying to figure out which tax forms to use, which deductions apply to you, the stress of doing it accurately to avoid penalities? Answer "yes" and the FairTax is for you!
The FairTax would eliminate taxing of our income and replace it with a federal consumption tax. Say goodbye to stress over tax time, the IRS, tax forms, filing deadlines, piles of receipts, payroll tax, income tax, gift tax, death tax, capital gains tax (just for starts). Those will all become a thing of the past when FairTax is passed.
This reform would put the moneys being removed for FICA, Medicare, Fed withholding back into your paycheck every month.
