Oh...and I forgot to add that they don't support it also because abolishing the income tax and restructuring the entire federal tax system to something honestly fair, transparent, and simple will eliminate a really powerful, possibly the most powerful tool in their toolbox of arbitrary power.

I'm just surprised to see Fair Tax supporters in New Jersey. The overwhelming majority of people in New Jersey, at least the part I am from, are liberal/socialist/statists. Even though the Fair Tax could even be beneficial to big government liberals because they will ultimately wind up with more revenue to spend but we know that they still don't support the Fair Tax because of the underlying philosophies of the income tax versus the Fair Tax.

I have to be the curmudgeon. A comment about joining the 9.12 revolution that is not tied into the FairTax is inappropriate for this social networking site. This is a New Jersey FairTax site. Although many 9.12 members are also FairTax supporters, the two are not the same. And it is important to maintain the distinction. As State Volunteer Co-DIrector of the FairTax, I encourage members to go to tea parties, but to make it clear that the FairTax is different and is the solution to many of the problems that tea party-goers complain about. The 9.12 people also are low-hanging fruit for the FairTax.

I'm for posting anything you want, but somehow tie it into the FairTax. I hope this lecture is received constructively.

With regard to those who say "it will never Pass".
When people say that it is helpfully to remind them of three other Grass Root Movements that succeeded after much time and effort by ordinary people:
1) Woman Suffrage
2) Prohibition of the sale if Alcohol drinks.
3) Repeal of Prohibition.

All of these movements required dedicated support by individuals as well as much time.

In ref to the message from Jim Bennet re people who love the FairTax and say "it will never pass".
I have found it to be an awakening to many of those to ask, "have you ever heard of an idea succeed when they people with the idea say it is great but will never happen?
Of course the answer is no. It is all in the attitude. If it is a good idea let's work to make it succeed."

What the good Senator said is that he know nothing about the Prebate and its affect on the lower income people who spend all of their income on necessities and beer and Large screen TV and cigarettes, etc., etc.

Why do politicians seem to miss the point that if corporations didn't have to pay the exorbitant taxes they currently pay, and the employees take home full paychecks, there would be less low-income individuals out there. I understand that Obama wants to even things up, but instead of making everyone poor, why not help everyone become more wealthy and successful? Instead of rewarding bad behavior, teach people to change it. I would actually love to see free classes teaching people responsible credit usage that would help people build up their credit scores and teach them how to not get into debt. That in conjunction with the fair tax law would make for a very responsible and powerful nation. The current methods seem to me to be insulting and enabling.

I would love to somehow help change the mindset of Senator Lautenberg in my response, while offering that a credit would be sent to low income families in an effort to "even things up." :)
