Be sure to read the new discussion added by Jim Tomasik. Article from AARP asks if it's time for the Fair Tax. Please comment on the AARP site. This article indicates a step in the right direction.

Way to go Mike. At our last meeting it was suggested to contact 3 people at a time to educated them on FairTax. Just think of it if the FairTax Nation people each month invited 3 people just to join FairTax Nation we soon would get our 50,000 members. Keep up the good work. It takes all of us to get this bill passed. We need letter writers, phone caller, and just plan old talkers to get the message out.

I have just looked at this group for the first time today and was amused by some of the comments about AARP. Although it is true that they are a liberal leaning group nationally, I have found that the majority of the individual members that I have met are very conservative in their fiscal views. I joined my local chapter for the express purpose of educating individuals about the Fair Tax and have been successful in signing eight members with more each meeting asking me pertinent questions. In fact, I am scheduled to give a presentation to the group at one of the first meeting in the Fall.

This is a really good site with a lot of information about local and federal officials. Anything you want to know from how they voted to their address.

This is from the 912 site about cap-and-trade. If you want to make calls or send a "your fired" notice the names are listed below. The spending has got to stop and cap-and-trade will only cause industry to charge us more if they have to pay higher taxes!

Key Energy and Commerce Committee who need to hear from grassroots
Americans:

Rep. Michael Ross (AR) 202-225-3772
Rep. Charlie Melancon (LA) 202-225-4031
Rep. G. Butterfield (NC) 202-225-3101
Rep. Zack Space (OH) 202-225-6265
Rep. Michael Doyle (PA) 202-225-2135
Rep. Bart Gordon (TN) 202-225-4231
Rep. Charles Gonzalez (TX) 202-225-3236
Rep. Gene Green (TX) 202-225-1688
Rep. James Matheson (UT) 202-225-3011
Rep. Rick Boucher (VA) 202-225-3861
Rep. Peter Welch (VT) 202-225-4115
Rep. Jay Inslee (WA) 202-225-6311

+ + Talking Points

1. I am disappointed that Rep. Waxman is rushing the 1,000-page
cap-and-trade Carbon Tax through the Energy and Commerce
Committee this week.

2. This bill deserves full deliberation and should not be rushed.

3. I oppose the cap-and-trade Carbon Tax. This is an outrageous
power grab by the federal government that will greatly expand
government control and increase my taxes.

4. Especially in these difficult economic times, Congress must
not pass this tax on the American people!

I have address labels for the ones I am sending to and the ones I send to on a regular basis. That's the easiest way to do the mailings. I am going to run off a plain copy from the "your fired" site and then take pink paper to a copier and have them run off. It is probably as cheap as using my printer ink!

The Dayton, OH area has a printer that is selling "You're Fired" red post cards plus a shirt. Contact Barbara Wllson (bgw366@woh.rr.com) for details. Billie in Beavercreek

I will have to go to the 912project and see if I can find it for you. It is a print out that you send to your politicans telling them your not happy with the job they are doing and that you are officially letting them go! Will get the info. and send it as soon as I can.
