Cindy,

Please contact me at 510-1466 or by email. I'm in Greensboro and would like to make contact with the retirement community.

I work at a retirement community in NC and wonder if anyone is trying to contact this group. I would love to do something but can't since I work there. We need seniors going into these communities and getting the information out about the FAIRTAX. (Yes, I am a 59 yr. old senior)

Here is the list I posted in a Word Doc in the upload files tab.

TEN REASONS SENIORS SHOULD SUPPORT THE FAIR TAX (H.R. 25)

1. Completely UNTAXES low income families. (Prebate check for taxes on necessity items.)

2. Still raises the same amount as the current tax system. (Revenue neutral)

3. All federal income taxes gone.

4. It is a non-partisan solution to the economic crisis.

5. There is no inheritance tax. (You can leave accumulated wealth to heirs without fear of them losing it because of taxes.)

6. No capital gains taxes.

7. Social Security becomes solvent. (Because everyone is paying into it and will be paid out of the general fund)

8. It taxes the underground economy. (drug dealers, pornography etc.)

9. It stops the export of jobs. (You will once again be able to afford "Made in America" items)

10. It is progressive. (The more you spend the more you pay)

I thought of another one
5. When the old farmer decides to give up the farm his family will get it or he can sell it with out giving it to the government.

Billie,
you have produced a good list to capture attention. Dave list is good for background and to answer questions. I really like number 4.

Dave
1. No income tax on Social Security or retirement money.
2. No death tax
3. A pre-bate every month with your social security check and any portion of your retirement money you wish to receive. No limit on the amount you withdraw. (Right now you may want to take it all and bury it)
4. You pay the tax on your lottery ticket when you buy it; so when you receive your winnings there is NO tax.

Now thats stimulus !!!!! First though we have to figure out how to survive the fiscal changes that the democrats are now imposing on us an my children and grandchildren. I supported Huckabee and Fair Tax in the last election.
