Most of us are deep into one of the more detested tasks we have to perform: completing and filing our federal income tax returns. No civilized nation should put its citizens through this process to support their government! An important event will take place shortly after Tax Day, April 15th – the date we associate with the end of this significant period of misery.
Join our Roanoke (VA) Area FairTax group at the Grandin Theater on Saturday, May 1st at 10:00 am for the premier screening of the 90-minute movie, “An Inconvenient Tax“. It is a movie about our current tax code and ways to replace it, mainly intended for people who don’t know about the FairTax or who would like to get more information about it. The movie features the views of John Linder (lead sponsor of the FairTax bill, H.R. 25, in the House of Representatives), Neal Boortz (radio talk-show host and author of “The FairTax Book” and “FairTax: The Truth, Answering The Critics), Mike Huckabee (2008 Republican presidential contender and strong FairTax supporter), Herman Cain (businessman, author, radio talk-show host, and strong FairTax supporter), and several noted economists, all focusing on the solutions to our onerous tax code problem.
Our country is going to implode under the weight of its tax code if something isn’t done NOW! Although the movie covers several approaches, we believe the best solution, bar none, is the FairTax. We all need to become informed and involved! Knowledge is power. Please join us and bring your friends, especially those who are unfamiliar with or are skeptics of the FairTax. Tickets are $5.00 (to cover our costs) and seating is limited. Please order your tickets by emailing us at raft@cox.net or phoning 540-529-1901 or 540-580-3098. We’ll have handouts containing key Congressional committee phone numbers, as well as your Senators’ and Congressman’s phone numbers. The concession stand will be open….so come and have lunch!
