Hi, Marilyn! Thanks for your welcoming hospitality, and congratulations on this site! I think this is a great idea for networking with other fairtaxers and continuing the FairTax momentum! I'm looking forward to seeing it grow and prosper, all the way to the end of the IRS and the dawn of a renewed freedom!

    My msg to the DCCC:

Our SKY-HIGH CORPORATE TAXES put us at major disadvantage in the international marketplace where we are forced to compete against untaxed foreign goods --- basically we are SHIPPING AMERICAN JOBS OVERSEAS!
This and many other problems will be solved by the FairTax -- IMPLEMENT THE FAIRTAX!!!!

Thank you for soliciting ideas from the public. Clint in Mississippi

A message to all members of FairTax Nation

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is asking for you to "Vote for your top priority in the new Congress". They have a section for your "better idea" which we all know is the FairTax

Marilyn, Thanks for adding me as admin. Below is an image which I would like to recommend for now as the default image instead of the gray man that appears. We don't want to appear "gray" in FairTax Nation. You are the only one that can change this feature by: To provide new members with a default profile photo instead of the default "gray man," simply head to your Manage tab. Click on "Network Information." At the bottom of the page, you will see a section where you can upload your own photo or icon for your members who choose not to upload a photo. The newly added photo will only appear for members who do not add a photo to their profile who join your network after you upload that photo. I have set the photo to the default size 175 px by 175 px. When are you going to add your personal image so we can see our "creator."

    Here's hoping image shows up

Hello back, Marilyn in Da Windy, where the buses still go "tooda loop".

I spent a few years in Your Fair City working with WBBM and Tom Skilling (WGN) on the backside of the camera as a news engineer.

    Thanks for the welcome.

Do you know that I can also claim Illinois as my state? I was born in Chicago (Michael Reece Hosp.) . This is were my father was stationed in the army at the end of WWII.
But our families were in Georgia, so that is where my older brother and I grew up. When Marian and I do the Great Loop we will give you a call when come down the river near you.

    Marilyn,

Thanks for the welcome and I believe in fair taxes. I live in Nicholasville, KY and I always question leaders about the taxes.

WHAT DO CITY TAXPAYERS GET FOR THE COUNTY TAXES THEY PAY?

  • John P. Martin

Not personally, but I know him. Senator Buford and Representative Damron are talking about doing away with state income tax, I think property tax too, and some other taxes. They want a sales tax. I need to study that one more. It is probably a more fair tax as it gets everyone.
  • John Shuey

    Marilyn...

I've been a FairTax supporter and volunteer for about 4 years, give or take, serving as a community coordinator. Things have been real slow for over a year though, and I hope this kickstarts the effort again.
  • Kenneth Thompson

    Thanks for the welcome note.
It would be a great idea to give our taxpayers a tax holiday for six months (instead of wasting the 750 Billion) and transitioning into the fair tax. It is a real missed opportunity.
    Cheers,
    Ken
  • Kenneth Thompson

    Good morning Marilyn,
    Great minds think alike!!!
Maybe we should have a campaign to send your message to as many politicians as possible.
Please send me a copy of your message to your senator and I will pass it to my senator.
    Cheers,
    Ken

    Marilyn:

I look forward to seeing you soon. I have a photo for you. What is a mailing address.

  • Richard E Birdsall

    Your welcoming note is appreciated.
Palm Coast Fair Tax enthusiasts have been working hard for years now. My friend Ernie Hiscoe and I feel that Fair Tax needs more strenuous PR. Many we find have no idea what it is all about. We have made a Fair Tax self inking logo stamp for all mail we send out. Anyone who wants one should get in touch. It includes the website address.
We feel that with the Fair Tax there is no need for increased taxes, stimulus packages and bailouts etc. We have been contacting all our govt reps including Pres. Elect Obama encouraging their invesgation and support. Glad to report that our Congressman John Mica is onboard.
  • Kenneth Thompson

My point is a little different. WE SHOULD COMBINE THE FAIR TAX WITH A TAX HOLIDAY FOR A YEAR. Instead of a "Spending stimulus package of 850 Billion dollars", use that money for the "tax holiday" (no taxes on income). During this period transition into the fair tax.
    Regards,
    Ken
  • Phyllis Reed

It's exciting to see the numbers increase. It goes to show "there are people that are concerned"!!!
  • D.T. Strickland

Hi, Marilyn! Should we start a page on the fairtaxnation site for our dist 11 group, or should our group page be on the Illinois page?
  • Richard E Birdsall

I wish i had the $25 to send to get it removed.
It is definately confuses the drive towards the FAIR TAX.
The Flat Tax is a Forbes creation and even he says it is not as desireable as the FAIR TAX but it IS his idea so he continues to support it! Just what is needed...a man of integrity and conviction.
  • Shane Ahrens

Thanks for the welcome note. Looking forward to working together and making an impact.
  • Jan Gregory

thanks for the note.. glad to be here..
  • Suzanne Moles

Thank you for your kind welcome and I will be spreading the word!
  • James Baird

Thanks, Marilyn. This site is a great idea!
  • Laura McCue

Marilyn, My name is Laura McCue and I am the VP for the board of North Carolinians for FairTax and the district director for district 11 in North Carolina. I have just found the FairTax Nation site and signed up. Please advise me as to how I can help NC supporters to find it and join. My email address is laura.mccue@ncfairtax.org.
  • Laura McCue

Marilyn, how do I put an event on a calendar and change the current incorrect listing you have for the directors for the state of North Carolina?
  • Mitch Skroski

You folks are my heroes- you are the only chance this nation has. Hope to be able to get involved deeper personally this year.
  • Henry Sizemore

I am dead set on trying to change this tax system that we have.
I have felt for many years that the tax system we currently have has been the down fall of this great country.
I have asked family and many friends to join me in the fight.
    Thanks for all you do.

Thanks for the welcome Marilyn. I see everyone uses their real name here... maybe I need to edit mine!
  • Marcia Duncan

Thanks Marilyn. So, I notice that some of the members show their cities and such on the members list. How is that done please. Would like to know who all is out there in this area and show the same. Thanks, Marcia
  • RC Woodworth

Name is now RC. That's me. I've been working this thing since 97 and i''m glad to see it picking up every year.
  • Marcia Duncan

    Thanks! that did it. M~
  • Paul Davis

Thanks for having me. I'm excited about the fairtax, and I talk about it everytime I get into a political conversation.
  • Peter V Locke

    Hi Marilyn,
I hope we can act as a nucleus for some kind of action! Sending E-mails back and forth is nice, but I'd like some local organizing for some physical activity that could be U-tubed. I tried a few things myself, wearing the hat, a 20 mile walk at Gov. Huckabee's San Antonio book signing. In six months of wearing the hat, one comment! and that was 5 months ago. The walk? LOL :(.
But, I'm up and ready to join in on some other ACTIVITY!

I'll add some leader's names if you give me the keys.

  • Tia Mayberry

    Hi Marilyn,
The number to use on the Fairtax site is the same one I have listed on here (the same one you use when calling me) and the email address I want up there is tia@hifairtax.org. Thanks for everything-
  • Peter D.

Thanks for the welcome - and I love your Honu picture!! I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to SCUBA dive with the green sea turtles in Hawaii a couple years ago... majestic creatures, truly.

I look forward to working with you and all the others here at FTN to move the FairTax to the front of public debate!
  • Peter D.

Funny how that works. I am a big Dave Ramsey fan, and he talks about how the tortoise beats the hare every time he reads the story. I believe we have a very strong tortoise in the FairTax. And I also believe the Government underestimates the power of the movement and our message. We know we face dozens of government-funded "studies" that will attempt to discredit our cause. Of course we will! The Government does NOT want the power of taxation back in the hands of the People!

I cannot wait to see the FairTax signed into law one day. And I will work hard to help us all achieve that grand vision.
  • Jim Plair

Thanks for the welcome. I have in the FairTax family for about 5 years and have hosted a couple of seminars here in Brevard. Have not been able excite the folks here in Transylvania County, but maybe the new administration will scare a few to find out more about the FTA. Afriend of mine is the new President of the Chamber and has indicated that he will schedule a forum for me to show the CD and pass out information. We will see.
  • Steve Curtis

    Marilyn,
Chock it up to an unfamiliarity with the sites, but I can't find the list of CC and DD you sent me a couple of weeks ago. I know it's here somewhere, but between this site, Zap, and several others, I can't find it. Do you recall where it was posted/sent?
  • Robert Douglas

In the military. Active duty at Ft Bragg. I am hoping her future is world without the 16th amendment.
  • Steve Curtis

    Thanks Marilyn.
I was looking for the OHFairTax Ning site, which you pointed to. That's all I need for right now.
  • Jim Cate

I'll mostly be a lurker but am a past CPA for the Fair Tax.
  • Steve Curtis

    Marilyn,
I am thinking about trying a regular email to all Ohio FairTax members (not just those on this site) along the lines of the Patriot Post. Has that been used before and, if so, how did it go over?
    Steve
  • Phil Claypool

Not yet, Jim says he is going to have the ning folks look at it.
    Thanks again, Phil
  • Brad Perrin

    Hi, Marilyn!

Thanks for the invite. I am talking up the FairTax to everyone I know.

    Thanks,
    Brad
  • Phil Claypool

I went into the applications page and changed the appearance of my page. The info magicall reappeared.
Don't ask me why or how, but all is well now.
    Thanks
    Phil
  • Elaine Metcalf

thank you, Marilyn, for the welcome! My husband, Earl and his mother want to join, but she doesn't have email and he shares mine.
We tried to sign Earl up, but got a msg that said we had to choose another email. Is there a way around it?
