I have been working as many angles as I can to spread the FairTax word. I just released a book entitled "The Demise of America (As We KNEW IT) which proports (along with a long list of other items) which should be passed by the congress. Of course they are pretty well tied up with a completely unnecesary 'bailout' bill. That book and my others are shown at www.iwishihaditmyway.com.
I have joined so many FairTax organizations I'm losing track. Where is your group headquartered?
I have been donating on a monthly basis for a couple of years. My CPa seems to have a problem that a 501(c)(4) organization donations are deductible. Can you help me with an official statement that it is or is not?
hey marilyn, thought this might be a good idea. glenn beck is having people send photos into his show on fox. On march 13th he supposedly is going to show these pics. we should try to get all the fairtaxers possible to send pics in, either with fairtax hats/shirts/signs etc. Go to glennbeck.com and look under the we surround them story. The hat or bumper sticker near the face may be the best bet if they only use face shots? crack the whip on that new district leader of yours! lol
Hi Marilyn I am so jealous. You get so many replies. Noticed you joined the Seniors group, I didn't think you were old enough. LOL Keep up the good work. Great picture on this page. Billie in Beavercreek
Morning! I was wondering is there anyway to invite members to groups. For example I created a Fl district 2 group and I would like to invite all the current FL (really district) members only to this group. Since some did not put in a district code can not filter on that. Other thought since they put in city could we auto fill their district so we could focus down to district?
Another question. I utilize Outlook and I have tried to the FairTaxnation Logo in my signature block with and active link, can you help? I do not know how many people I contact on a routine basis and not invite, some may be curious and 'click'. Can not make it work. I think that this is an easy way to advertise as well. I do not know how Yahoo and Google and others can do it. Something to explore and publish
You're welcome. I"ve been part of fair tax. org for yrs.. I am from Ga. & been on board since the beginning when John Linder proposed the idea. I was lucky to be exposed the info. more readily because of being in Atl. area & Boortz having him on his show. I wish I could contribute $, but I'm indigent & handicap, but do what I can.
Thank you Marilyn, You can put me down as a volunteer along with my husband ( once he joins) we are HUGE supporter of the fair tax and believe this is going to be the only way to get our contry back on track. Please let me know what I can do in Tennessee, you have my FULL support
Marilyn,
I am looking forward to meeting more folks involved in this. I need to learn more so I can build my confidence in the concept. We are having a meeting here in NC District 5 tonight, so I'm hoping to walk away with more knowledge.
Thanks, Mike
you made me admin of WA State group...what'd I do to deserve that? LOL Any suggestions for being in such a position? Thanks for ALL that you do!! LOVE THIS SITE...visit is MORE than once a day!
Hi Marilyn, I went over and joined c2c; put my blurb on about FairTax; met (on-line) Deborah from Springfield the director of c2c and was feeling great about my accomplishments. Got a comment from Jack Serious from CA on c2c and he ask what I thought I was doing with my blurb? I typed out a comment and forgot to hit Add; so I went back with a smart answer and when I went back to c2c my blurb was missing from 59 other members. Oh well, I will try again. Billie in Beavercreek
You might want to check out c2c. Deborah is on our side and is a member of Zap. She is hoping to attend one of our local meetings; but she is busy, busy, busy. Billie
You probably should have waited to sign up for c2c. Your mail box probably will be full. They are a very active group. Good luck in Washington; we will be thinking about you. Call if you need anything. Billie
I just signed up on the Fairtax Nation and have contributed to the cause monetarily now for a couple of years. Please add me to the list of active volunteers in california, and if there is anything I can do, let me know, thanks
Thank you, Marilyn. I would like to keep up with any progress made on The Fair Tax. Having read the book, it seemed so much better than what we have. Janie
HELLO, Marilyn,
WOW! I type in Hello, Marilyn & the window disappears! There is soooo much "stuff" on all the sites I check on!! Don't get me wrong, I don't go to any "weirdo" sites. But, sites like this, The Fair Tax, just seem to have soooo much info, I can't find what I want. But, I digress. I have been listening to Neal Boortz & have bought both his books, but didn't really need them to realize that The Fair Tax, would really turn this country around & get Washington off our backs & out of our pockets, which, of course, they do not want to happen. I am so afraid(?), worried(?) of where this president & his congress (no caps on purpose, because I don't respect them) are trying to take our country.
Sorry, but I do get carried away. Crash
HERE'S AN IDEA: On Tax Day we should have a CARAVAN of vehicles circle a city of choice on their Outerbelts and Downtown streets ~like a parade route or a Motorcade route! Think of all of the cars that could have FairTax Magnet Stickers ALL OVER THEM streaming through town!
Thank you, Marilyn, for the welcome. I'm glad to be here. The next step for me is to find like minded people in my county and neighboring counties. I live in Marion County. Crawford, Wyandot, Hardin, Richland, Morrow, Delaware, and Union counties are all around me. So if anyone here can help me hook up with a group please let me know.
Hey, I like that caravan idea on April 15. That's something I could get going around here. Got to get with other strong supporters, though. Sometimes I feel like folks around my county have thrown in the towel and feel powerless. I don't share that feeling.
marilyn, you will do fine on American Solutions. With your help, we will have more "soldiers" in the fight. We need a targeted plan to pursuade. Pil and I spoke and thought about hitting one specific piece of the FT per week instead of just having 20 people come on each day and repeat the same ideas. Anyway, if one of us goes to American Solutions and posts for the FT, then we come back to this site and "call in the backups" to come on the site and support the FT argument. In American Solutions, I go by my real name: shannon castleman
Lets stop adding to the front number. The other number on the members page is less than 0.5% low. That is good enough if you ask me. Its not wrth keeping up with anymore at this level.
Marilyn, I feel like this fair tax is America's last chance to save our economy. I have bought a hat, bumper sticker and a Save the Economy Support the Fair Tax yard sign. I have emailed the Fairtax.org to everyone in my address book. We gotta make this go. I can't wait to attend a Rally with like minded people! Let's GO!
Thanks for the welcome Marilyn. The Fair Tax would be a God send for this country and I will discuss it with as many people who will listen to me. I have started by emailing everyone in my address book.
Hello Marilyn. I agree with the FT. How do you see getting liberal Congresspeople on board? You're going to have to do that, you know. Also, you need support of the President. Bush gave it lip service. Obama says he'll study it. Neither are very encouraging.
My view is that it either has to be modified to suit liberal interests. Or, the other possibility is to convince the seemingly causeless Republican party to take it up as a major platform position. The party needs an issue to unite it and bring excitement back to its base.
The issue may seem mundane, but it's subtly profound. Income tax is a form of slavery when you think about it. Eliminating it is tantamount to eliminating a form of slavery. It's that important. The idea that you own yourself and the benefits of your labors is very important, and a system that takes that away is bound to fail. I'm not saying this to preach to the choir. My point is that spinning this as a rallying point for the Republican party may have some merit.
I would be honored to help any way i can except money, my sons lost their jobs so i am helping all i can. I went to the tea party what a blast.
it was nice to be surrounded by people that want the same fairness you do.
Thank you for giving me that opportunity.
Hi Marilyn,
Since 1998 I have been a proponent of the National Retail Sales Tax and have been involved over the years as it evolved into the present day "FairTax". My good friend Lou Lobe and I decided that a Hot Air Balloon would be a great way to promote the idea. Lou and I who are the consummate capitalists decided that a renovated balloon would do the trick. We have traveled to events from DC & Philadelphia to Iowa to fly the banner of "Tax Freedom".
It has been 10 years now and I have never lost the faith that one day April 15 would be just another day to enjoy our freedom.
I fully believe that NOW is the time to unleash the greatest power of an idea that will restart the greatest economic engine in the history of the world. Let's stop using the Tax Code as an instrument of social engineering and let every American keep their whole pay check.
Personally, I can see the prebate as teriffic way to invest in my retirement. Paying a little each purchase and having direct deposited into my retirement account each month. What a great opportunity to build wealth in the nation.
Let's hope that there are enough free thinkers still left down the street and on main street to support the "FairTax".
As a owner of Georgia's oldest balloon company, the recession really has become an issue. Even in these austere times, I am prepared to inflate the balloon in front of the Lincoln Memorial as part of a National tax rally and tea party.
Let's not allow the socialist to destroy our nation.

Marilyn,
Thanks for the note. Believe me I have been. I recently joined FACEBOOK and so did most of my extended family, ehich is rather large. Some of them have already seen the light and I am continuing to get the rest of them on board. It's the younguns who aren't used to being involved yet that seem to not have much interest as of yet. Possibly at some point I will be lucky enough to see them face-to-face, which I think would be helpful. I am also planning on promoting it through some of the local Chapters of Associations that I am a member of. I am a retired Special Forces Warrant Officer and I plan on tlking to the SF Association in Fayetteville, NC, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, and our community Lake ASsociation about the FAIRTAX as well. I wil keep you all posted on those endeavors. I am OCONUS eight now, but I also plan to research what it will cost me to do a full page advertisement in the Fayetteville Observer. Fort Bragg, NC is located just outside of Fayetteville and I know that if the soldiers there were more aware, they would have a lot of interest in it. Thnks for you note again, and iff you have any advise or guidance/ideas, please feel free to contact me.
I have sent out over 400 invitations from my address book.
I cannot guarantee what the response will be but at least some of my contacts will at least take a look.
I have a printout of my current PowerPoint presentation that I am currently giving to various Chambers of Commerce and Toastmaster clubs in Southern New England. Let me know if you would like to see it and where I can send a copy to you and maybe post it on this site.
Im not sure if you know it yet, but there is a grassroots fairtaxmn.org site. I am the 2nd District Director for MN movement. We are in constant contact with the National Leadership and any donations come straight back to the State. Our State Director has been in contact with Gov Pawlenty and other congressman and we are in the process of organizing things for a big push. We are currently working on raising money for an independent study just for MN to show how it would benefit the state and what rate would be needed.
A pro-family organization is planning TEA parties nationwide on April 15 -- but the events, designed to send a strong message to the White House and Congress, won't be sit-down affairs. The rallies are called Taxed Enough Already, or TEA, parties that will be held in 1,000 cities across the nation. People are being asked to gather at their city hall during the lunch hour on Tax Day. Similar gatherings have taken place in cities across the U.S., as tens of thousands have turned out to protest wasteful government spending and President Barack Obama's "stimulus" package. (See related video report on anti-bailout demonstrations) Go to http://www.teapartyday.com/ to get involved. We need as many FairTax workers as possible to go and distribute info about The FairTax at their city halls on tax day. Please get the word out, Marilyn. Thanks.
Marilyn, just thought you might find useful this comment I posted when I signed the petition being sent to the President on April 15th:
Mr. President,
You must understand The FairTax first in order to support it, not by taking the word of politicians, but by listening to 100 economists who intelligently developed this plan more than a dozen years ago and have stood by it to this day. Taxation is not a dirty word. We need taxes to pay for the costs of running our country properly, including your salary, and keeping us safe, free, and prosperous. The fairest way to do this is by implementing The FairTax instead of the current Income Tax system. Our petition here gives you the basics, but it leaves out another significant issue: no amount of tax breaks for the poor or tax increases for the rich will ever collect from the billions of dollars in the underground economy or aliens who never pay taxes. Under The FairTax, their purchases will bring in millions of dollars in tax revenue but will not entitle them to a prebate that all law-abiding citizens will receive. Now, THAT's fair!!!
I like to share with all of you as we are all working to change the way we are taxed.
FairTaxSOWEGA has reached a mile stone in 4 months as we had first Fla. Whip Party implement our website with theirs and second we hit 1000 followers on our twitter site . This means we three website spurs have affected 4000 people who want change in our government in how we are taxed.
