    Brenda,

Welcome to the site. We are planningto make 2009 a fantastic year for the FairTax. If you would, please take a look at the Florida leadership list in the Florida group. LEt me know if it is accurate.

    Thanks for joining FairTax Nation,

    Jim

Whatever it takes to make this a very accurate and up to date list...

    Send it on to me.

    Thanks,

    Jim

Brenda: You are correct. FairTaxNation is a better site for our purposes. The Flagler Group left meetup several weeks ago. I'm just wondering if it would be more cohesive if we had just one group in Florida rather than appearing fragmented. One site would give the members a beter opportunity to be aware of events, news and communicate. I see where the Florida FairTax group already has 12 members. What say you?
  • Robert Lowry

Brenda: Thank you for your response. I understand your position. The way the site is set up communication between groups should work. Even though we tried we were never able to interest most of our local volunteers in becoming members of CFFTG. We can still work together. Lord know we have plenty of that to do.
  • Robert Lowry

Brenda: Shortly after becoming aware of Governor Huckabees use of Meetup groups the Flagler FairTax Group subscribed to meetup.com and formed a group, as you did. Initially there was some crossover membership. In our case many of our volunteers did not have access to the Internet and participations did not justify the cost. It was because of that we terminated use of Meetup.com. Then when zaptheirs and FairTaxNation came on-line it was obvious this was going to be a more functional site, i.e. facilitate intergroup communication. The fact remains we have a lot of boots on the ground so to speak but a membership that are not able to participate electronically. The evolving Florida FairTax Group hopefully will serve all splintered Florida Groups well. Thanks for your yeoman efforts.

I have been pushing FAIR TAX in Dade County for about 10 years. Do not have much time for a big effort. But slow and sure. Please keep me in the loop and I will spread the word down here.

    Brenda,

I am a new member and would like to participate in the Orlando Home Show event on Sat. Feb. 14th from 10:00 until 2:00. Is there anything I need to do other than just show up?

What about putting up a group on Facebook -- Neal Boortz has a site up: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2207972202 with a link to MySpace... I put up a note giving this website. I think the more places that information is put out, the more people can be reached, and the more educated everyone is, the better!!

Hi Brenda! We just got back from Lauderdale a couple of weeks ago during the heat wave. the airport in Chicago was closed with snow. Brown as bears, my wife says, "Put me back!"

Hey, I spoke to you months ago about the great work you have with those files for Florida fairTax. Microsoft in all their wisdom makes it impossible to alter them for my use here. I wonder if you would accept the mission of making a nationwide generic version for FTN, and uploading for all to use. The greatest part of them was that the registry was tweaked so they printed perfectly, and really professional looking. what d'ya say?
  • Gary R. Anderson

Yo Brenda; I just found 7 files on FTN "main". Are these courtesy of you? I also know you have some other things like small cards etc. want to work on those? You might want to ask Marilyn Rickert if she posted these.

I would love to come over to the event but I am working at H&R Block now every evening and Saturday and Sunday during the day. If I don't have to substitute teach on Friday I might try to drive over in the morning for a couple of hours, but don't count on me in case I can't come. I wish you all the best in your new career. I've always loved real estate, too, but never persued it. My niece in Michigan works for Keller---small world.

Brenda, I am having a tea party in Washington. Do you have any pictures of your t-shirts? Also, would you be willing to suggest an agenda for our first local FT meeting? It is in two weeks.
    thanks!
  • Dustin

Are your shirts Florida specific? I'm in Washington. I might still be able to paypal you some money for a shirt and shipping though just to have one and support the fund ;)
  • Dustin

Someone had suggested to me that we send post cards, or pictures of the Boston Tea Party instead of actual tea bags for security purposes to ensure our letters make it to the Whitehouse. What are you guys sending?
  • Dustin

Brenda! Just saw you guys on Fox News, Keep the momentum going! You've reached the opposite corner of the lower 48!
  • Brenda Janssen

Thanks Dustin! BTW The numbers are in for the Great Orlando Tea Party! Park officicials and the OPD estimate between 5000 and 6000 jammed the park! They are saying it was the largest crowd EVER to pack Lake Eola! The Fairtax table was also jammed the whole time, with a 4 hour total of 460 items signed. After running out of post cards, we resorted to trifolds and pad forms. A great day for Orlando; a great day for the Fair tax!

FAIRTAXNATION SHIRTS ARE STILL AVAILABLE!! $5 each plus shipping!

See FoxNews at 10:30 am TUESDAY for Lloyd Marcus, the singer who wrote the Tea Party song for the event on Saturday.
