Petition:
Joining the site in itself is 'signing' the nation wide petition. Whether or not one participates in any of the activities on the site, they are growing our petition by singing up to the site. We will be able to point to the site and say we have 'X' number of FairTax supporters across the country.
Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, there is not much use that all those paper petitions (well over a million) that have been collected over the years can be for us because we have no way to access the data. They are just stacked in boxes in Houston.
That is why we need this site to serve as a nation wide online petition. We may have to basicly start from scratch but at least we know there are over a million people out there who do support the FairTax already.
Events:
We can set up state level events lists and we also have a list on the front page that any event where FairTax is being promoted can be posted.

Hi Carol!
Welcome to FairTax Nation! My hope is we can work together to pass the FairTax ASAP. If you have ideas, suggestions on how we get this done please feel free to share.
Feel free to post your bike rides on the event page. Please let us know what we can do to help!
Happy New Year!
Marilyn Rickert
Guess that was you who called. Thanks. Sorry I didn't have more info to plug your motorcycle trip. I will go back on the radio fairly often as I learned that they are always looking for guests. I'll try to keep The Nation informed.
BTW, where can I find some answers to the more complex, technical questions about the Fair Tax? Who is available as an expert?
We need you to send in a picture of the FT bike to go on the main page under the balloon and the airplane. Did you know that we had either of these? Now we need a NASCAR!!
Hi Carol -
I just saw your note. I haven't been a Prochaska very long - my husband's (Charlie - this is a link to his page) family also came from Czechoslovakia in the early 1900's to Louisiana. His Grandmother's family came from Czechoslovakia to Chicago around the same time.
Suzanne
Hello Carol
My great Grandpa Prochaska came over with 4 children and settle in Lebuse La. southeast of Alexandria. My mother being Cajun from Sulphur La and my dad being from Pineville and I from Lake Charles qualified me as a true Cajun by now. My Dad's mother last name of Opeletha was born in Chicago Ill as her parents came from Czech at about the same time. I know her brother lived and died in Wisconsin, which has a lot of Prochaska's cabbage farms. I know my mother in Tallahassee has a family tree book on the Prochaska from back to Czech. Sometime when I am there I will check on some of the tree if there maybe any connection to Michigan. Thanks for asking Carol.
Can you give us an update on Sat. ride? Weather is suppose to improve up here this weekend. Is it generating any funds? Are many non-bikers commiting to follow?
well... we've had at least a dozen bikers on this end tell us they intend to join the ride... only one has actually signed up. The weather is supposed to get up to near 60, but at 9am, it will probably be in the low 40s - which is not fun on a bike. Probably 6 more bikers expressed interest in joining us at the meet up point, out of the mountains, so it'll be warmer, but again, no sign ups. I don't think bikers traditionally sign up - they just show up. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I've also noticed that people who talk to me haven't necessarily signed up for the newsletter, the list I use for mass communication. So, hopefully everyone who's interested will have gotten the necessary info! I don't have any info about cars following, altho' we need at least one to haul materials.
Funds are coming in at a regular rate; I'm a bit disappointed, but Mike says we're doing ok. We're buying materials in bulk to use over many events and I would really like to not put in any more personal money, but it seems to be necessary. Flags, brochures, bandanas, patches and pins are all ordered or here... what's another couple grand at this point! Mike & I just married in Sept and for wedding gifts we asked for donations... really appreciate those at this point. We are still working on timely reconciliation, since we don't actually see the funds, so I may not have the most up to date financial information.
The really bright point is Chapter formation.... we'll have at least 3 local chapters in various areas around the nation that will organize their own local rides. As we get more chapters, we'll be able to coordinate activities nationwide... and I think that will be really good for promoting FairTax.
We did our inaugural first ride last Saturday... It was cold! Details of the event will be in the newsletter. We learned lots and with all the developments this week, we're looking at some exciting developments coming up.
Carol , can I get your code for your link and image to put onto my Myspace page. I can link to it but I can't get the Freedom Ride logo to come up.
Thanks, Jerry
Hi Carol, They are on this website - ready to download, edit to make it your own, print and send. So easy and convenient. I am going to hunt them down now. It you can't find them write me back, and I should be able to tell you exactly where to look. Thanks! Kathy
Hi Carol when I see someone on a motorcycle I send them to your group. I am past the motorcycle part of my life. Too many nuts out there that think they can knock you out. You have to be very good on a bike to be safe now days. I think you are doing a good thing and I want to help you group grow. Billie in Beavercreek
I am starting to contact bike clubs in Ohio (by email through their websites) sending them the pdf flier, a pic of your bike and a link to Grassroots Freedom Ride. I challange others in other states even though they are not bikers (as with me) to do the same.
I'm planning on signing up for the ride on the 15th, but I am in Winston-Salem, NC. I'm also planning purchasing a flag for the ride. Can you give me information on the route so I can plan where to meet up with ya'll? Also - what time are you guys leaving Snowshoe?
Sounds good - I'll plan on meeting up with everyone in Spartendburg then. If I purchase a flag during registration, will they be available at the Spartenburg meeting spot? Also, if meeting in Spartenburg, how do register the morning of? Just call the number you left on my page?
Carol, are you thinking that you can be at the April 25th NC GOP convention? I am so frustrated that I was already committed for the whole day at something else. David Schipp thinks that he can be there. Have you hdeard from anyone else?

Do you have a bulletin board flier or something that I can take to the local motorcycle dealers to put on their cork board?
I thought this might help spread the word around about your group.
