    Hi Dustin!

    Welcome to FairTax Nation!

FairTax Nation a site designed and managed by FairTax volunteers to serve the needs of FairTax advocates by providing a place to share ideas, find resources and create new opportunities with the goal of passing the FairTax HR 25.

On Nation we are working on many projects. One is our 50 State Campaign. We want to link at least 1,000 active volunteers in each state to work together in a national effort to pass the FairTax. That would give us at least 50,000 active volunteers able to communicate, plan events, etc. I know some people want a FairTax rally in Washington D.C. This is how we build the organization to make this event and many others possible.

Please feel free to invite your FairTax friends to join us also.

    Thank you!

Welcome Dustin...great to have you! I got your e-mail and will get back with you tomorrow! Hey...what Congressional district are you in? 3 or 8 Pierce county?
  • Jim Tomasik

    Hello Dustin,

    Welcome to the site.

Please join your states group under the 'Groups" tab at the top. We are planning a huge year for the FairTax in 2009 so you came to the right place.

Please invite every FairTax supporter you know to join as well. We want to build an army of supporters as quickly as we can.

    Thanks for Joining FairTax Nation!

Thank you for inviting me Dustin. It captured my interest right away and I am looking forward to passing on what I learn here and possibly inviting more people to the site.
  • Marilyn Rickert

I like your idea about being able to find the FairTax bill. There is a lot of information on our home site at www.fairtax.org. I think adding the name and bill numbers may be helpful.

    Thanks for the idea!
    Marilyn

THANK YOU for inviting Richard Belk!! I hope to see this spread like WILD FIRE!! Only doing good and NOT harm!!
  • Jamie Wheeler WA

I'd start calling B&N, Hastings, even some used book stores. Sure wish I'd known I could have sent one to you. The FairTax Book by Neal Boortz...You'll have to let me know what you think after you get done reading it!! It is a REAL eye opener!!!
  • Jamie Wheeler WA

Hey Dustin, did you get the book? Were you able to read it? What'd you think? HEY...are you going to become a community coordinator? You can act like one without the title...I know I did for a while! You do have more access to things as a community coordinator. Just thought I'd zip you a note...I'm off to bed!!
  • Jamie Wheeler WA

Hey Dustin Twiggs...I will take my "energy being contagious" as a compliment. LOL Let me know when you get the book and maybe we can read it together separately...I have read mine at least 2x but it helps me to read it over and over and over....
  • Jamie Wheeler WA

Dustin ABSOLUTELY you can reserve a room at your local library to start having meetings!! We tried that for a few months 'til it was just me and only just last month started up again!

    MEETINGS...
Get to know one another, share how you found out about it and if they have read the book. PS...Amazon.com has them for $5...you wouldn't have to GIVE them away you could loan them and thus give you a reason to follow-up with their reading progress.

At the meetings you can have a laptop computer and share the FairTax.org website and make sure that all in attendance are members here on FairTaxNation.

Dustin I don't have your personal e-mail in my FairTax address book...zip it to me and I can share what I am doing & you can duplicate/adjust to whatever suits you!
  • Jamie Wheeler WA

dustin@tca-inc.net is the best e-addy to get in touch with you? If so it is now in my thefairtax@live.com e-mail address book...from which I send most of the e-mails regarding local/district informaiton.

Dustin...it is "not" going to get them hard to bite because #1...it is "only" on new not used (which WA octotaxes us)...the other thing is explaining the embedded tax.... "Did you know..." I also make sure they know that UNLIKE right now we do NOT get a prebate...up to the poverty level...in short the first approx. $25,000 of EARNINGS is completely UNTAXED!!!
    SO...
we get FICA, Medicare & Federal Withholding back in EVERY paycheck
    we get a "prebate"
the companies we work for can now "give pay raises or bonuses or GROW their businesses or hire more people --- or all of the above"
we no longer have to worry about tax audits
we no longer have to PAY someone to "try" (as they are not always successful) to prepare our taxes...

Here in WA I pay an 8% sales tax...AND a 22% embedded corporate/payroll tax but my paycheck as the FICA, Medicare & federal withholding taken out....SO...I take my ALREADY taxed money and spend what is left and when I do I pay ANOTHER 22% of embedded taxes. With the FairTax I will get my EARNINGS without any federal withholding that I get to go spend and pay a 23% tax PLUS I will also get a rebate. hmmmmmm FAIR TAX alll the way!!!

Hope that helps...if not give me a call and we can "talk"
    GOOOOooooo fairtax
  • Jamie Wheeler WA

Business to Business...no tax. My parents researched that one because they own a small business. They aren't "consuming" hence, no consumption tax....they are producing or providing a service which will get the consumption tax.
  • Jamie Wheeler WA

I think I need to send you a FairTax the TRUTH, Answering the Critics. LOL You are going to be FAR more prepared than most people don't even "go". After $25 million in research I figure they've thought of everything to make the WIN WIN legislation...GREAT questions, just more in depth than I have ever had to get!

The graphic appears at the top of the TEES FOR THE TEA PARTY thread, but I don't get the actual shirts til today or tomorrow. If you would like to reserve a couple for showing at the meeting, that would be ok, but I need to know by tomorrow night, in case we sell out on Saturday.
  • Jim Tomasik

    dustin,

Do not think that I would hamper your idea. I am only pointing out something that came to my mind. At least you are trying to do SOMETHING!

    Good Luck!
  • Steve Curtis

Whatever you think will be most effective for your group. As always, we have to make the biggest impact with the resources we have available. Good Luck.
  • Brenda Janssen

Dustin, they are not florida specific. I used the logo exactly as you see it on the TEES for the TEAPARTY thread.
  • Jim Tomasik

If an expendable becomes part of the product then it would not be taxed any more than any other part of the finished product.
  • Billie

Dustin in response to you comment on Leadership... How are you getting your group together? Lisa Woods (mcfan.org) suggests each community form a (your town) Friends and Neighbors group. That way you can discuss all matters. We have been a FairTax group for the last couple of years and now we are going to "We Surround Them", "Huck Pac", "Tea Parties", and the list just gets longer. I think a FairTax group is necessary; but you have to start some where with people of different interests. As to what to talk about... You start with an agenda and anyone that is versed on FairTax will have comments and you may want to have a few friends as guests that will start asking questions to get the group in the mood. The other thing about our group is everyone helps and participates in all of our projects. We visit our congressmen's offices, we go to parades, we have booths at neighborhood gatherings, and we have done the state and local fairs. One person can not do everything. Hope this helps. • Marc Bohemier

do you have a local group formed there yet? Or are you on your own there still?
    Marc
  • Marc Bohemier

That's a great start. Do you have Fair Tax lititure and sign up cards for these people? Do you have any copies of the Fair Tax books by Neil Boortz? I see your starting from scratch here and I'll help all I can in helping you jump ahead of the game.
    Marc
  • Marc Bohemier

Look on amazon.com for used copies of the book. You can usually get them very cheap there. Also go to www.fairtax.org and look for aides and lititure you can get from them cheap.
    Marc
  • Morgan Heasley

Why thank you Dustin and good luck to you in your endeavor in spreading the word about the Fairtax! =)
  • Marc Bohemier

Yes Dustin the Tea Party people and Fair Tax people fit together like a glove! We had a great Tea Party here in Myrtle Beach today and I was honored to get to speak on behalf of the Fair Tax at it. We probably have doubled our support today nation wide for the Fair Tax through the Tea Parties.
  • Jamie Wheeler WA

I too will be getting in touch with him! How exciting!!! I remember our first. He will be 23 in Sept. We need to give him a better future!!!
