Welcome to FairTax Nation! Please feel free to invite your FairTax friends to join us also.
FairTax Nation a site designed and managed by FairTax volunteers to serve the needs of FairTax advocates by providing a place to share ideas, find resources and create new opportunities with the goal of passing the FairTax HR 25.
It was great talking with you on the phone today. Feel free to enjoy the site.
Hi Josh, thanks for joining. Please invite your friends and family to join. The best way to see what is happening is to check "events" at the top of this page.
I just spoke with you on the phone. Thanks for the call and the interest you are showing. If there is anything else we can do or if you would like to get a meeting started in your area perhaps we can help you with that.
Josh,
Sorry we got cut-off. I tried going to North Central State College in Manfield, but was not able to find contact information for President Don Plotz. If you can send me something, or a contact for Student Activites (or whatever you call them), I'll be happy to follow up.
Ms. Pucket,
A student at NCSC, Josh Gregg, suggested that I contact you regarding The FairTax.
As the State Director for The FairTax, I would appreciate the opportunity to inform your students of the benefits offered by The FairTax, answer any questions they might have on why The FairTax is preferable to the current system of income taxation, what advantages The FairTax offers students and recent graduates, and why The FairTax is crucial to the future of the American economy.
While I prefer the standard presentation format because it allows me to focus on the benefits and structure of The FairTax, if you'd prefer, I would not be adverse to a debate or panel discussion on the relative merits of systems of taxation.
Please feel free to contact me at your convenience regarding a schedule and format or, if you are not the right person, please provide contact information for that office.

Dick's last name is Haynes and it appears Jodee is on Zap the IRS not on FairTax Nation. Sorry about that. I do not have contact information on her. Billie in Beavercreek
I found it! You story at the beginning was great. With some more practice I think you will do a wonderful job. One thing... I never give the 23% tax rate unless asked. That seems to be true of all numbers and statistics, not jut the FairTax rate. People tend to hear that to stop listening to the content of a speech when numbers are inserted. I think that people's brains process numbers at a lower speed than words -- my opinion. As always use your best judgment.
Hi, Josh.
I'm Nancy from Marion, Ohio. You're near Mansfield, aren't you? I'm anxious to get together with Fair Tax folks close to my area. If you can help me, I'd surely appreciate it.
I just sent Margaret the following message:
Margaret,
I am asking permission for Steve Curtis to present the FairTax Plan to North Central State College
for an extended education. One of the many reasons to give support to the FairTax is, as follows:
"Right now it is costing the treasury $945 billion per year to
provide income tax deductions, tax preferences, loopholes, credits,
and favors provided by the current tax code. Only those who qualify
for these breaks and itemize their returns receive these tax benefits
and 70% of filers do not itemize. Under the FairTax plan ALL
Americans receive monthly prebates to reimburse consumption taxes
paid up to the poverty level, guaranteeing that no American pays the
23% FairTax to purchase the basic necessities of life. These
prebates would cost the treasury $489 billion."
Josh, perhaps you could give a talk, much like you did at school, for our first meeting? I have two voting age grandsons and I know they could relate to you. Get back with me on the meeting thing.
Are you going to participate in the Fair Tax Columbus Caravan on April 15? Starts at 11:00 and will finish around 1:30.
Here is my response:
"I do not see how this fits with what I teach, and I teach several classes, so there would not be a large audience."

Are you ok since your accident? Nobody hurt I hope.
Met with Barbara today. She's great! Gave me lit to pass out door to door and for other public areas. She's got lots of great tips for meetings. For our first meeting here in Marion I would like you to give a presentation, much like you've done. It'll be relaxed and somewhat informal so folks feel free to ask questions. I'll gladly come and get you. Haven't set a date yet but will be within the next month. I don't think I could present the Fair Tax as well as you do because you've had some experience doing it. I usually talk to everybody I meet one on one.
In the meantime, I'll try to find us a meeting as near to us as I can for us to attend. I'll drive. Barb says hitchin' rides is a pretty common thing and if ever I wanted to go to an event I can meet up with them.
Josh, just spoke with Barb, my Fair Tax contact person (she's a veritable fountain of knowledge and extremely active!) and she had a great suggestion! She told me that there's a Columbus Tea Party on the State House lawn, April 15, 6 pm to 7:30. She said you should contact the Columbus Tea Party and ask if you can speak! I'll take you if you need a ride!
You can get contact info at columbusteaparty.com. Please do this. I asked the Col Tea Party if Fair Taxers were welcome and they emailed me in the affirmative. We really need to be at this rally. I'm going to go. If you've got Fair Taxers up there, get them to come and bring their signs and wear their Fair Tax apparel.
There will also be a Tea Party in Mansfield on April 15. These are perfect venues for us Fair Taxers. I'm going to have to get more literature to make available at the Tea Parties. Make sure local newspapers get this tea party into the events section, if it's not already there.
I cannot find your phone number! I'll get it from Angel. I spoke with her today.
Got the invitation from the columbus tea party, organizer Jusin Higgins, to have a fair tax speaker. I'm currently trying to get a seasoned fair tax speaker. If I can't, are you up to it? Justin said he'd like to have someone briefly explain what it is and why it's so good. He's an ardent supporter himself.
Justin and I are both trying to get Rep. Tiberi to speak as well. Even better to have a politician and an every day guy talking about the Fair Tax.
I'll have literature printed off to pass out at the tea party. Can you copy of the tri folds at the bottom of the main page on FTN? I don't have the software for it. I can only do PDF files. If you can run some of those off, that'd be great.
Something came up last night so I wasn't available. After the tea party, I'll be able to focus more on the meeting. We may just be in for a surprise at that meeting; may have more attendees than I originally thought.
I plan to pick you up around 3 pm on Wed for the tax day tea party. I want to get there about 5 or so to have time to park and walk. Steve Curtis is speaking at about 6:30; hopefully we'll get the chance to meet him before he speaks but afterwards is fine, too.
If you don't have a sign, good news! Barbara sent some to Plain City with her son for me. I picked them up today. They look just like the bill board. I have enough signs to go around, about 20 I think.
Marilyn is sending me an email with fliers that I can download from a pdf format. I fear we won't have enough literature. That's something I'll be working on tomorrow as I want to pass out as many as possible at the tea party.
If you're like me, you don't have much money to eat out on so if you want to pack a little something for Wed eve. that's fine. I'll probably be doing that. Unless my mother comes along; sometimes she insists on treating everybody, sometimes not. You just never know.
Josh, I'm so very sorry about your loss. Since we share the same belief, I feel safe in saying, let the Great Comforter keep and sustain your family through this time. I'm praying for you all.
We'll skip getting together until after the funeral, ok? Call me after. Your family needs you now.
Your Grandma is having an awesome time! Call me after 9. That will be fine.
The Tea Party was great, by the way. Lots of Fair Tax supporters, however, we need to get them a bit more pro-active. Tell you about it tonite.
Could you call me tomorrow afternoon? (Saturday). I'll be gone for awhile after 3 pm, so if you could call before that, that'd be great. I've got grandchildren until noon, so try between 1 and 3. If we miss each other tomorrow, I'll be home most of the day Sunday.
Just wanted to let you know you missed a very good FairTax meeting Wednesday at the Miami Twp Library on Lyons Rd. Bill Sanders came all the way from Lexington, KY to be a part of our meeting. We have so much going on for FairTax we would love for you to be a part of our movement. We will be having another meeting on the second Tuesday (May 12) in Beavercreek at Beef O'Brady's and at the Sharonville Library in Cincinnati. Hope you can join us. Billie in Beavercreek
How are you? I wish I could help you tomorrow, but work prevents me. I know you'll do well. Feedback from Marion Mtg was positive about the information you provided. You definitely scored points with my uncle and that's saying something! Thank you again, so very much. I can come up in the future, if you want.
Regarding the Springfield parade: I'm going down Sunday nite and staying over for the parade. Seems to me there's some activity in Medina county, so I'm going to check it out and see if I can get some assistance for you from that direction.
You will do great Saturday night. You know your stuff. Start with the basics 'cause this is so foreign to those that have no idea. When it comes to q&a you're impressive. If you want the DVD that I used for future use, contact Aaron Schutte at fairtax.org, or try Steve and see if he knows of any floating around. I was fortunate in that Barb just happened to have an extra. You may have to remind Aaron by phone a couple of times. I never did get mine from him.
Hi Josh, My name is Frank Gilbert and I am a community coordinator in Fairborn, Oh. If there is a way for us to help you succeed, please let us know. Its a sometimes trying road, but in the end, we know the FairTax will win the day.
Not sure which party in Mansfield I'm attending but I'm leaning toward the one @ 10 a.m. at the raceway on Crall Rd. I'll let you know tomorrow. Sure I can pick you up.
What date and time is the meeting with Shelby City Council? I thought you said Tues. but Steve said he thought it was Mon. Let me know and I'll be there.
I hope you can find another ride to the Mansfield Tea Party. My mother wants to attend a Tea Party, too, and doesn't want to go alone. She's going to Xenia tonite and wants to attend the Tea Party in Springfield, OH tomorrow. Please forgive! Oh, I hope you can make it the Tea Party! Take your sign and your handouts.
I plan to attend the city council meeting with Steve Curtis Mon. nite at 7 pm.
