Thank you, Dave, for the note. I am committed to eliminating Constitutional amendment 16. With that I think the Fair Tax will come about. With the likely "chaos" in the next few years I suspect that that enough states will want to repeal several amendments. I fact, I think that the Constitution gave total rights to citizens and only restricted the Federal government. Even the first 10 Amendments, rather than expanding freedoms, reduced freedoms. The logic is: if I spell out a few things, and not everything, that I will allow someone to do, then those things not spelled out limit that persons actions. I think we need to get back to limiting government, and the Fair Tax would help since people could "vote" with their pocketbooks.
Hey, Dave. I have been following the Fair Tax legislation since it was first introduced and have come to the conclusion that if Congress is left to act on their own, they simply won't. I regularly write my senators and representative - Burr, Hagen and Foxx and can't seem to find any one in this state that supports the Fair Tax other than Sue Myrick from Charlotte. IMHO, only peaceful demonstration and a well orchestrated mail/email campaign can push this through. Too many persons in Congress have introduced their own offshoot legislation which only serves to water down the overall effort and give Congress an excuse for theit inaction and ineptitude. Other than that, I am quite pleased with the job the jerks in Congress are doing their job. They are on the verge of literally pissing everything away and it causes me great consternation. We will be taxed into serfdom under the current course.
AS YOU WELL KNOW OUR COUNTRY IS IN VERY SERIOUS TROUBLE AND GETTING MORE OUT OF CONTROL EACH DAY AS OUR REPRESENTATIVES CONTINUE TO SPEND AS IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW.
THIS UNCONTROLLED SPENDING REMINDES ME OF THE OLD BUT TRUE ADAGE CONCERNING THE GOLDEN RULE, THOSE WHO HAVE THE GOLD MAKE THE RULES. THE FORTH BRANCH OF OUR GOVERNMENT IS, WE THE PEOPLE. WE HAVE THE GOLD SO WE CAN AND MUST MAKE THE RULES. THE FAIR TAX IS THE ONLY HOPE WE HAVE OVER CONTROLLING THE GOLD AND THE OTHER THREE BRANCHES OF THE GOVERNMENT. SO LET'S EXERCISE OUR POWER, TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY, FORCE OUR ELECTIVE REPRESENATIVES TO HONOR THE CONSTITUTIO, OUR CAPITALISTIC SYSTEM, AND ALLOW OUR ECONOMY TO OPERATE FREELY AND WITHOUT THE INTERFERENCE FROM GOVERNMENT. WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FAIR TAX, WE THE PEOPLE CAN GAIN CONTROL OF OUR GOVERNMENT BY NOT BUYING ANYTHING UNTIL OUR DESIRES ARE SATISFIED. WITH THIS SAID, I LOOK FORWARD TO THE MEETING NEXT WEEK AND TO MEET YOU FOLKS WHO HAVE ALREADY DONE SO MUCH.
I would be happy to help organize State & National awareness. The biggest hurdle is Visualization. People need to get familiar with the logo. I magnetized my "No IRS/FairTax" bumper sticker ( I hate stickers on my car ) and drive it EVERYWHERE and it's paired with my Libertarian magnet/sticker so Dems & Republicans don't pre-judge this movement.
A Columbus group just formed and I'm excited to see when/how we organize.
Yours,
~Teresa
Thanks for helping promote the Grass Roots Freedom Ride for FairTax Dave! Within the next few days, we'll be at FairTax.org to facilitate GRFR chapters nation wide. It'll be open to everyone, non bikers included, to join forces, support our national organization as well as the grass roots projects.

Hi Dave
I'm Phil Reed, Zach Eggleston's father-n-law. I'm not too swift on computer but i'm glad to be in the group for the fair tax. Don't know how to put picture in my profile. Is that youtube video of the order today available to see yet?
If so, how do I see it?
Phil
Thanks Dave, that sounds like a good thing up there in Cinnci. Last year I stood alone in front of the Nandino Blvd. PO in Lex and handed out over 300 FairTax fliers. This year I hope some friends will join me. I plan to rent a Colonial costume to wear this time.
I have been trying to locate a local meeting but haven't found any. We really enjoyed coming to the meeting but it is a long drive. If I can't find one closer, we may be back or I'll have to get something started here.
Jenn
Dave,
Several things - first, thanks for the warm welcome. Second, thanks for the link to the Fair vs Flat Tax and will check out what I can do via the Ohio Group and others involved in working to push the Fair Tax with our Congress. Also, love the colors on your site. Thanks again! Dave.
Dave,
Thank's for the welcome & the information on bumper stickers. I called Aaron Schutte in Houston and he will save me a few bumper stickers. I expect to be heading to Houston in the next month for a few days and it just so happens that Aaron's office is very close to where I am headed.

Do you know of anyone that can speak at Columbus Tea Party April 15? It's 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Tea party organizer, Justin Higgins, emailed me a little while ago and said it would be great; he's an ardent supporter of the Fair Tax. We're working on getting Rep. Pat Tiberi, but he may have scheduling conflict. I really provide a speaker for this event if I can. Your help will be greatly appreciated. (as if you don't have enough to do already!)
I would love to have someone say just what Mike Huckabee said in the above video, at the Columbus Tea Party! It's perfect! If anyone can do that for me, contact me!
Dave,
Bit late but consider that no tax are paid on Used Items! Hooray for Consignment Shops, Good Will, Yard Sales, etc! Buying used has a lot to recommend it - consider no taxes on used vehicles, clothing, gardening tools, and other things I can't think of right now. Didn't consider this myself until my wife owned and operated a Clothing Consignment Shop. Dave.
Thank you for the welcome. I have joined this network after a bit of encouragement. After being here I am seeing that this is very similar to zappers. We need to consolidate all of our networking sites. This only causes us to become spread and ineffective.
Dave, last Thurs I requested permission to pass out literature in front of the post office, from said post office. They said they had to check with Columbus USPS and for me to call back in a couple of days. I did so yesterday; the lady I spoke with said "we'll call you". Told her time was running out and I just wanted to know before the 15th.
Question: Do I actually need their permission if I'm in compliance with the instructions from FairTax.org?
heard it on the radio I believe...
have you heard from Teresa,,,she is hard to get a hold of and
do not feel comfortable calling..as do not know her that well...
thks
Bob
yeah this is where I contact her too...
sent a msg a week ago and have not heard anything..
just wondering...seems like if the ride was on there would be more
conversation...???
Good...
Tea parties getting all the attention...not sure if here plan would get the attention it deserves,,,,it also might be a good idea to do it on another day with focus on it....and get Joe "the plumber" to help host it,,,he came out for it the other day and is attending an event in Atlanta for the Fairtax/TeaParty..
LOL...too funny
well at least you get to do one,,,Tivo or tap Glenn's show...
think it will be cool coming from Alamo...
I think we have finally gotten some of those people's attention...
hey check out this video on You Tube if you have not already.
just put in search engine youtube second American revolution..
about 6 min.'s long ,,,well done...
Well, Dave, attendance was dissapointing. I knew all four of them. However, it was a success in my book. We, Josh Gregg and I, presented the Fair Tax as planned, using Fair Tax: It's Time DVD and then explaining the basics. Q&A/discussion time was very beneficial. We got two petitions signed, one that probably will, and the fourth, well he's one tough cookie. He's a flat tax proponent, but we had our info ready. He'll be checking out fairtax.org because his curiosity is piqued. This man is my uncle, a smart man, and lives in Xenia, Ohio. I'll be directing him to a meeting near there. I'm convinced he'll be won over.
What I learned is that I've got my work in my area cut out for me. I've only got two helpers now, but that's two more than what I had. One of the things that I'll be doing is referring people to fairtaxnation.com for more specific questions that I'm not as well versed on, such as imbedded taxes and small business benefits. The imbedded tax topic in the forum here has great discussions and I know my uncle would greatly benefit from those discussions.
So, all in all, I view this first meeting as a success, despite the fact that attendance wasn't what I would have liked. I look at the positive aspects as I view them as the foundation to build upon.
Thank you so very much for your prayers. That means so very much to a person like me.
Wundaful! No dissappointing. The shrewd beloved Uncle!? No ma'am. Keep us updated because we need to know exactly what info gave him the change of heart. Curiosity...Wonderful!
Thanx, Dave, I'm glad I came. It was great to meet you, and Phil, Jan, Rich, Millie, Billie, Paul, Jack, and Deborah. I'd met Barb and Steve once before. You guys are great.
Hi Dave, I had a wonderful time. Riding on the float sure beats walking. I was concerned about Millie. When she finally got there she said Nancy was with her; so I am glad they had each other. We have a great group. Wish we could add about another 100; but that may be asking too much. Thank your brother's family for the picnic. Even the weather cooperated. I was tired but I had fun. Billie
Thanks for your message. I will keep in touch. Perhaps at a later date I may ask for the list of the 89 names, even though most of them are not members.
