FairTaxers, Get Behind Internet Sales Tax Bill...but not this one.

In an artical on Fox News, conservatives in Washington are in disagreement when it comes to the Marketplace Fairness Act 68-27, proposing that internet retailers should collect sales taxes on the sales that they make across state lines. Senator Ted Cruz calls it a "mad bill" saying it puts too much of a burden on small businesses to implement. Reagan-era economist…

100 years of the Income tax is enough!

If you are like most folks, on February 3, 2013, you were glued to your TV set, watching a great Super  Bowl.  Parties with friends, and rivals, across the land celebrated the game, whether your team won or lost.  And this was a good thing, because, if not for the Super Bowl, February 3, 2013 would have been a sad day indeed!!

It was the One Hundredth anniversary of the ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment, which allowed the first constitutional income tax in our Nation’s…

The Only time a tax can not be passed on to the consumer.

The only time the cost of a tax can not be passed on, is when the cost of the tax along with the other costs of production, prices a product out of competition with imports.

Our present system of taxing cascades at each step of production, burdening domestic products with more cost that imports don't have to contend with. The United Sates is currently the only one of the 30 OECD member…

One of a Million ways to pass the Fair Tax?

Have a standing petition list on the FairTax.org website where supporters can record their support. This is necessary so Americans for Fair Taxation can go to every Congressman and Senator in the country and actually show them the names of supporters in their districts and states.

It's too easy for our elected representatives to dismiss the Fair Tax Act saying that their "constituents don't support it." We have to be able to show the politicians that their constituents DO support the…

The Cain Train and 9-9-9: The Wooly Mammoth Tax Code will live On!!

I like Herman Cain! But Mr. Cain has taken a path on tax reform that is marginalizing the efforts of the legions of FairTax advocates who have worked tirelessly for years to bring about true tax reform. He insists that we need a ‘stepping stone’, called ‘9-9-9’, to get to the FairTax. This position and the implementation of 9-9-9 will ensure that we will never get meaningful tax reform, or at least have it tabled for another 30 years or so. Sure, 9-9-9 will initially simplify…

A Good Reason for FAIR TAX

I have an acquaintance that is a CPA.  Although we get along very well, I really can’t call him a friend.  The main reason is that I’m a gung-ho conservative who is dead set against the Federal Income Tax.  Conversely, he is dead set against the FAIR TAX, a national consumption tax and totally infatuated with the IRS and income tax.

My idea of an ideal governmental situation is no income tax, no FAIR TAX and no flat tax.  Collect taxes the same way that it was done prior to…

Let's rename (rebrand) the flat tax

Let's rebrand the flat tax to the “Drug Dealer Relief Act” since criminals will never pay income taxes, flat or not. Then refer to it that way every time. When anyone says flat tax, you say "You men the drug dealer relief act".  Feel free to disseminate this re-branding far and wide.

Even Plato knew…

JFK on the income tax - who knew?

"The largest single barrier to full employment of our manpower and resources, and to a higher rate of economic growth, is the unrealistically heavy drag of federal income taxes on private purchasing power, initiative and incentive." - President John F. Kennedy in a special message to Congress on tax reduction and reform Jan. 24, 1963

Even back in 1963, JFK knew how crippling income taxes are.

Thanks

Steve Bang

FairTax Prebate: Fair or Foul

The prebate is an integral part of the FairTax, and essential to one of the fundamental principles upon which the FairTax is built, namely an individual’s right to the fruits of their labors comes before any claims the federal government might have upon that person.  In other words, under the FairTax, citizens are allowed, and expected, to take care of themselves and their families first, and then, after those expenses are addressed, provide a portion of their “extra” resources to fund the… Continue

Congratulations, America! You finally did it!

Take a deep breath, America. You've finally worked long enough this year, to earn enough to pay your taxes for the whole year. Since the government claims first dibs on your money, this means that all of your work this year, up to now, has been for the government. But you can now start working for your own benefit.

Tax Freedom Day arrived 46 minutes after midnight, last night (April 12).

Tax Freedom Day is the…
