There are often people wondering where to get signs t-shirts etc. We could raise a bit of money through it too. I'll bet Governor Huckabee would donate a few of his signed books to the cause.

There are a lot of good ideas here; some of them will take time and energy and some will just take money.

Jim is right, we need to be in D.C. every chance we get. I say let's do it all over again next year and them some. However, that will take money too.

There were additional comments about raising funds, and I'll echo those comments. The good folks AFFT were able to raise $250,000 in relatively short order, can you imagine how much we could do with just half of that amount?

We need to get serious about fund-raising. I don't know how many emails I got from AFFT asking for my donation to the campaign, but I got more than a few. I think we should send at least one to our members. My 3 cents.

Polosi not only wants a national sales tax, she want it to be the unweildy "value added" tax. It would create more paper work and record keeping than we have with the current income tax and she wants to keep it too. Why doesn't she just come out and say it. She would like it, if all production means were in the hands of the U.S. government and she and her socialist friends would decide how much each person needed to live and we know where that took everyone who has ever tried that.

I believe fairtaxers need to organize and push for explicity committment from committment regardless of what party will work with you. Creating competition would be a good thing for our attention. I would like to point out that Nancy Pelosi has announced on Charlie Rose / PBS she intends to have a national sales tax in addition to the income tax not to replace it. !!!!!! oh my

I am trying to bring synergies of like minded groups together in my area who can actually rallye around to win elections so we can have public voices that can affect the direction of our country from the ground up. FairTax: Put FICA, Medicare and Federal Withholding back in EVERYONE of your paychecks on payday!

I would like to know if it is possible to GET THIS LEGISLATION on the radar of FOXnews... How Cap & Trade, the Healthcare bill and so on will be manipulating us in yet another way do to the tax code. But there is legislation in DC that would get rid of the Tax Code and FREE us from sooo much manipulation!

Could we have a DAILY spokesperson? What about getting a book into the hand of the news anchors on FOXnews?

I agree as far as FAIRTAX GEAR!!! I wanted to order 9,000 bumper stickers, but there were only 300 left...t-shirts, LRG & XLrg have been out for months. Is there ANYONE within our FairTax / FairTaxNation network that "knows" someone or has a business that can get these things done at relatively low cost?

HEY...what about a daily call campaign? We have FairTax supporters in our areas commit to call EVERY DAY "one call"... What about "Flat FairTax Freedom Fred" (kind of like "flat stanely"...we could start one in every state and make sure the media is at the Flat FairTax Freedom Fred Send off.....???? The one thing that comes to mind is "something that will give us attention"....what could that be?

HEY...what about "FairTax NEWS" on YouTube, where we all join in being the reporters like that video that is on here right now? Maybe even going on the street and asking anyone who walks up if they would support a bill that would get rid of the IRS or "did they know there is a bill that would mean no more filing a 1040" The other thing I think we need to do is use some of the same accepatble language. YES WE CAN and the like!

Something like "Jump start manufacturing jobs: tell your legislator to stop taxing your income, eliminate payroll taxes on you and your employer and replace them with a sales tax. No more IRS. No more filing tax returns. Pay taxes only when you buy something. Sound fair? That's why we call it the Fair Tax" Hit popular themes like "look at your paystub and add up FEDERAL TAX, SS TAX, MEDICARE TAX. That amount is your raise with The Fair Tax. Your employer pays none of those taxes either. US companies would become instantly more competitive with foreign companies, creating US jobs."

Or how about reverse psychology: "I want to RAISE your taxes (on consumption) but I want to ELIMINATE your income tax, SS tax, and medicare tax. Oh yeah, I'll abolish the IRS and ban tax returns, too. Sound like a fair trade. It's called the Fair Tax."

I think small business retailers would be a great resource for both recruitment and advertising. The FairTax would gain exposure to the customers/clients. Maybe a ground campaign utilizing the 0.25% administration credit as the key point for the businesses to advertise "I want to be a tax collector". Something along these lines... Maybe the education about the plan will not occur during the transaction but the seed has been planted and the FairTax will begin to get recognition.

Combine this with the intended AFFT campaign as well as the other suggestions and volunteer work, I think we could begin to see more support.

Raising money. Would a nation wide aluminum can drive be a possibility. If every person signed up at fairTax.org; who gets a mailing collected one bag of cans and turned it over to the local FairTax chapter, that could be significant funds.
Swelling numbers. Do you think it could help recruit people if the local chapters volunteered at local soup kitchens and community tables to talk to a completely different class of people. People who are just as upset with the government as the rest of us. Also getting the word out with airplane banners. Is this being done? I think airplane banners on American holidays like Memorial Day, Labor Day, the Fourth, and of course everybody's favorite April 15. As well as to be used for ball games and just general promotion along interstates and traffic jams.
College impact could be dramatic if we could get student governments to implement a form of FairTax to collect for student government funds. Rather than add that cost to tuition and essentially raising the price of tuition implement a FairTax to be collected from every person who makes a purchase anywhere on campus vending machines, book store, sports venues, and cafeteria. This way faculty and staff along with general public would share the student government fees with the students. Imagine campaigning for student government on such a platform I would like to see the response.
