Steve since you know me you probably realize I have never had a mission statement; but I do feel that FairTax is my mission. You come up with the words and I will try to perform. Billie

It's not bad, but, in my experience, Mission Statements need to be something that provide guidance in their accomplishment. For instance. saying you promote peace and harmony is nice, but is really actionable, nor does it orient readers to how/what you are doing.

For example, a good Mission Statement might be
"To provide customers with single day service at the lowest regional cost by continually increasing productivity and maximizing asset utilization."

The subject Mission Statement, in my opinion, doesn't really do that since the creation of an on-line presence isn't really our goal, passage of the FairTax is. An on-line presence, education, networking, and political visibility are strategic and tactical actions to accomplish our goal.

Having said that, I have worked with/under a wide variety of Mission Statements, and don’t have any real problems with this one. I just think we might want to, as Musashi would say, Think deeply upon this, and make sure that, if we act in concert with our Mission Statement, we end up with our desired objective.

Steve this mission statement is under Leadership and on the Main page of FairTax Nation. I don't know who's it is but I like it for Ohio. What do you think? Billie

Is this a Beavercreek mission statement, an OHFairTax statement, or higher level statement. I thought the National was already working on a missions statement, but I could be wrong.

Carol McLean suggested the following Mission Statement. What do you think? Billie
Mission Statement
To create a consolidated on-line presence of FairTax supporters and activist nationwide, allowing greater political visibility & strength, as well as networking & educational assistance for FairTax groups throughout the country.

Tony sent this out last evening; but I just read it:
Hello all:

There won’t be a FT meeting in February for two reasons. First, I just have too much on my plate right now. As some of you know I’m on the Beavercreek Charter Review Committee and we are winding up our review and drafting our report to city council. Second, I still haven’t found a suitable place big enough. The library room is just too small for any number over 20. I hope to have something to report to you all over the next few weeks. Thanks.

Tony
Phil has been working on his web page and has found a place in Beavercreek that we can meet. Personally I would like to try to have a meeting in February. I am afraid that not meeting will let the group feel we are not interested. Your comments would be appreciated.

I just went to "forum" and there is "Operation 100 FairTax Cosponsors". I think it may be a good site to keep us posted on what to do. Please check it out.

Billie, I sent you another e-mail. I hope you have recieved it. Beavercreek will be having one soon. Its format may change a little depending on what Tony decides to do. As always, you and others are always welcome at Fairborn.

And to Phil, we sure do hope Phil is feeling better now!!
