so glad your meeting was a success.  So what is a flash event?

Had a great FairTax meeting tonight. State Senator Chris Widener spoke to a crowd of 25 folks. He had alot of great information from budgets to welfare reform. Several in attendence were first time attendees and expressed a desire to learn more about the FairTax. He does support the FairTax and stated so in no uncertain terms. Lots of good questions were thrown out and he did his best to answer them all. It would sure be great if we could get more legislators to come and have these discussions with us as its beneficial to them and us.

I'm already looking forward to next months meeting.

And just to let you know, we will be having a "flash event" on Aug. 24th from 5 to 6 in the afternoon at the intersection of E. Dayton Yellow Springs Rd. and Commerce Center Blvd. Hope to see lots of you there.

When will people wake up and realize that Corporations don't pay taxes, they raise prices to pay taxes

Two articles on the "tax" issue in the Fairborn Daily Herald's newspaper. One by our stste director Steve Curtis on how the FairTax could eliminate the debt crisis, and another by some fellow once again crying that corporations don't pay their "fair share". I hope someone who reads these will respond to them and let this newspaper know we appreciate their coverage of this important issue.

The best way to deal with Senator Brown is to allow him to live under the rules, regulations, and laws he is passing right now.  I suggest everyone work to help Mr. Brown find new employment after 2012 by educating the public on his willingness to sacrifice our children on the alter of his national debt.

> Dear Walter:

> Thank you for your thoughts regarding a national sales tax.

> I understand the dissatisfaction with the current tax code and am in favor of simplifying the tax system. Our tax code has become a labyrinth of rules and regulations, and as result middle-class families are having a harder and harder time making sense of their tax liabilities.  However, we must be sure that any revision to the tax code is fair to all Americans.

> Currently there is a lot of ambiguity surrounding the fair tax. Critics of the proposal suggest that the 23% tax rate cited by fair tax proponents is misleading, and the bipartisan Advisory Panel on Tax Reform has argued that the sales tax would have to be set at 34% to truly be revenue neutral. Others argue the prebate plan would cost the federal government between $600 and $700 billion annually, making the total costs of the prebate larger than any other category of federal spending. (The bipartisan group Factcheck.org has an outline of these debates and others surrounding the fair tax on its website.)

> While I do see the need to make the tax code simpler and more equitable, I am not convinced that the fair tax would accomplish both these ends.

Frank, Sen. Brown has no plan but he did say, "However, we must be sure that any revision to the tax code is fair to all Americans."

20 milion dollars and 10 years of research has disposed of all the ambiguities of the FairTax. Sen. Brown is just another Obama loving liberal who wants to see us fail as a nation. But at least this time he gave an answer. He has refused to give us any answers in the past so this is an improvement (if you want to call it that). By the way, what's his solution???

Here is my response from Senator Sherrod Brown:

"Currently there is a lot of ambiguity surrounding the fair tax.

While I do see the need to make the tax code simpler and more equitable, I am not convinced that the fair tax would accomplish both these ends."
