Not mine to remove Kay. And I am not a sight admin. guy. I'm not even saying you have to remove it. That's up to you. Besides, like I said, I actually agree with you.

That is fine, Frank.  You may remove my posting.

Thanks,

Kay

Kay, While I personally agree with your thoughts on Issue's 2 and 3, I must say that this is not the site for those issues. I do not mean to be rude or impolite, but this site needs to stay focused on the FairTax. There are many people who believe in the FairTax but may feel different in regards to just about everything else.

One great way to use our tax dollars more wisely is to pass Issue 2 and Issue 3 with YES!

Zanesville Patriots and Americans for Prosperity-Ohio

TO TAKE BACK YOUR FUTURE,

VOTE YES ON ISSUE 2 and ISSUE 3.

On, Thursday, September 8th, Zanesville Patriots are partnering with Americans for Prosperity-Ohio on a Taxpayer Town Hall in Zanesville.  This fourm will feature Buckeye Institute President Matt Mayer, business owner Glenn Newman and others as panelists and speakers. Here are the details.

What: Taxpayer Town Hall
When: Thursday, September 8, 2011, 5:45 pm
Where: John McIntire Library, 220 North 5th Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701
Speakers:

  • Matt Mayer, President of the Buckeye Institute for Public Policy
  • Glenn Newman, business owner and leader of Marietta OH 9-12 Project
  • Kay Clymer, Zanesville Patriots
  • Seth Morgan, former State Representative and AFP-Ohio Policy Director
  • Rebecca Heimlich, AFP-Ohio State Director

Here are some important facts about Issue 2:

• Issue 2 makes local governments more transparent in their negotiations with unions and gives you a much greater voice in how those negotiations turn out and how your tax dollars are spent.

• Issue 2 will help restore fairness in how your tax dollars are spent:

• In many cases, taxpayers are currently forced to pay the government employee’s 10 % pension contribution in addition to the employer’s 14 % pension contribution, and the government employee pays nothing. Under Issue 2, government employees, instead of taxpayers, will pay the government employee’s 10% share of pension contributions.

• Right now in Ohio, many government employees pay significantly less toward their health care plans than those in the private sector. Issue 2 takes some of this burden off of taxpayers by having government employees pay at least 15 % of the cost of their health care premium, which is still less than half of what most private sector workers pay.

• Under Issue 2, government employees will earn their paycheck based, in part, on performance and quality of work, not just on how long they’ve held the job.

• Issue 2 gives government employees a real choice in whether or not to join a union.

Steve Curtis did another great job with his column in the Fairborn Daily Herald. And it was on an issue that many people have questions on. Renters and how they fair under the FairTax. Please give it a read and respond to the Herald and on here.

Regards to all..

Okay, The next "Flash Event" will be Aug. 24th at  E.Dayton Yellow Springs Rd. and Commerce Center Blvd. in Fairborn from 5 pm to 6 pm. We would like to get a good turn-out and our state director has asked me to get a good group shot. So come out and have some fun with us.

If our coming from the Dayton area, the best way to come would be to get on 675 North bound. Take the Dayton Yellow Springs Rd. exit and turn right at the top of the ramp. Two lights and your there. There is a Circle K right there. I'll follow up with where best to park as I find out.

Have a great weekend!!

Thanks Pat, I thought it went great too. Chris seems like a good guy. I hope he does well for us in the future. Look forward to seeing you next Wednesday if not before then.

Last nights meeting was great!  I passed on all the info provided to us by Senator Chris Widener, I was very impressed by him.  Looking forward to the "flash event".

A "flash event" is were a group of FairTaxers get together at a major intersection for about an hour and hold banners and pass out information. Its been met with great response from the communities where we've done it. And just to make sure the proper folks get credit, Barbara Wilson, Billie Stewart and some other folks were the first to do this.
