I sent the following email to LTC West on 12/7; so far, no reply...

Dear LTC West,

My name is Sean Fagan and I am the director of special projects for FairTax Nation (www.fairtaxnation.com). Congratulations, you are now one of my special projects! As a Vietnam Veteran, I salute you sir! As special projects director for FairTax Nation, my task is to help inform you about the Fair Tax (HR 25).

I have extracted the following excerpts from your “Allen West 2010” video:

Allen West on Government & The Economy – “Abandon the wasteful and corrupt spending practices and transfer the wealth of this Nation back to the people. Stop using our tax code as a weapon in class warfare.”

Allen West on Federal Taxation – “We need tax reform that transfers the wealth back to the American people, not a fiscally irresponsible government. Our progressive tax system results in approximately 45% not participating. Lower our business tax rate, it is the second highest in the world. There is no reason why should have capital gains, or death tax. Lastly, we must stop taxing social security benefits.”

We at FairTax Nation could not agree with you more! We also believe the Fair Tax will accomplish exactly what you have stated – lower the business tax rate (the Fair Tax actually eliminates corporate taxes), it also eliminates the capital gains, death tax and taxes on social security – not to mention the Alternative Minimum Tax and many others.

While I’m sure you have heard of the Fair Tax, you may not be fully informed of all the benefits it will heap upon our economy. That is my sole purpose for contacting you, I would be happy to discuss the Fair Tax with you personally or with one of your assistants.
