I'm with you Frank. I pondered if having a "chat" night might help with "interaction"....
As for coming to the site regularly I thought about having weekly videos posted.
Sure would like to see the resergence of this website reasert itself. I am looking for input into what we can do to make it happen. Any thoughts?
Had a great meeting tonight. Before our guest speaker shared his thoughts with us, we talked about what had happened since our last FairTax meeting. This included columns in the local paper, letters to the editor, the fact that we had another congressman join the FairTax as a co-sponsor (Rep. Jason T. Smith MO-8 who signed on 10-9013).
We also talked about the need to financially support the FairTax through Five For FairTax on the Ohio FairTax website.
We had a city Council candidate in the group tonight (Paul Keller) as well as our guest speaker Dave Harlow, Libertarian candidate for the Oh. 10th district seat currently occupied by Mike Turner.
Normally, I limit our discussion to the FairTax as it IS a non-political issue, but when we have a candidate in, I offer them the opportunity to share their view on many issues so that we may make an informed decision when election time comes around. I offer this opportunity to any candidate no matter what their political party as long as the understand our main focus IS the FairTax.
While Mr. Harlow is not a proponent of the FairTax at this time. He feels the nation is to "financially ill" to withstand such a major change. We disagreed (respectfully of course). He would be all for it down the road.
Our point of course is that the FairTax is JUST what the country needs to recover economically.
He did cover a host of other issues from border security to union reform. It was a very interesting evening that everyone there participated in.
Lastly, after a QandA, I mentioned our next FairTax meeting in November would happen, but we would NOT have a meeting in December due to the holidays.
That's it for tonight folks. Look forward to seeing the FairTax become a reality someday and am willing to work for it until it happens.
Would really like to know what's going on in the rest of the state. Any takers?
Been to long since I've been here to post. Since August, we have had several columns by our state director in print and also letters to the editor. One letter was actually anti-FairTax but was so full of lies and from so far away, it was easy to answer the outright lies and distortions (even for me). Local paper has been putting in a lot of columns lately. Hope the education is spreading in other papers as well.
Had a good meeting last night. Some folks who hadn't been in a while returned and we raised 75.00 for the FairTax at the meeting. Many of the "usual suspects" were there and we had a lively discussion as we usually do.
Roush's restaurant has been really good to us and we thank them for allowing us to continue to meet there.
Already looking forward to next months meeting.
Had a great FairTax column in Friday's Fairborn Daily Herald. Perhaps our state directors best yet. To read this column and more, visit the state website at www.ohfairtax.org.
Had that "IRS Scandal Townhall meeting down in Cincy on the 27th. I had wanted to go really bad, but couldn't make it. Our state director Steve Curtis was there and he reported that there was a good FairTax group there. Though most of the discussion centered around the IRS, there were questions about the FairTax asked. Steve also said there was talk about the FairTax after the meeting as well.
I was pretty perturbed at the one speakers comment though that the FairTax could never happen. No one thought we could put a man on the moon either.

We are planning to do our Fairtax thing again on Thursday, July 4th, 2013, for the parade in Centerville. Steve will be at our house at 134 Virginia Avenue with signs, bumper stickers and cards. The 120 unit parade starts at the high school at 10:00 a.m., comes across town and turns on Virginia to end at our house around 11:00 a.m. I will be working the crowd from Main Street east to the high school. You can’t get to our house from the east, west, or north. From the south take Spring Valley Road to St. Rte 48, turn North to Bristol, Turn left (west) on Bristol and then right on Virginia. Go north to 134 and park in our driveway or at the elementary school, not on the street. Hope it doesn’t rain.
Friends and family, I urge all of you to contact your U.S. Congress people and senators, and tell them that the IRS scandal could have been avoided if we had the FairTax (HR25/S122). It doesn't matter if your representative is a democrat or a republican. Please join me in sending a fax, e-mail, phone call or snail mail, and let them know, we want something better!
