Participating in something worth doing!

It has been a while since I have been involved in something big... For some reason though, the tax bills and bail outs in congress have peaked my usually unpolitical agenda!

I have now become involved in creating a Tax Day TEA Party here in my home town of Martin, TN. Though doing something this huge in 2 1/2 weeks is something most people would not even consider undertaking, I am viewing this not only as totally possible, but also a thrill!

Thanks for the support in Lometa

We manned a Fair Tax booth in Lomta, TX this past weekend at the annual Diamondback Jubilee. Over the day we had 7 volunteers come out to help raise awareness for the Fair Tax. While the turnout for the event was very low and very few people came by the booth, we enjoyed an opportunity to meet and visit with like minded and active Fair Taxers.

Notes from the Special Order FairTax House session broadcast on CSPAN

I recorded it and watched it all and took some notes. These are just my thoughts and constructive criticism. Overall the exposure is very welcome and additional media coverage will be especially useful.

An interesting aside, but I checked the Omnibus bill and found that only Reps Linder and Broun had no earmarks next to their name. Rep. Duncan is associated with 8 of his very own! Can't have it both ways.

My Reaction To Representative Steve King's Presentation of the Fair Tax to Congress

First, I think that Congressman King presented himself well in his speech. Since the average attention span is about 15 minutes, after which the viewer zooms out temporarily it is important to capture and keep the attention of viewers. Steve King allotted time for Congressman John Linder and other Fair Tax co sponsors. Each segmant was short and gave a differing viewpoint. Good Job Congressman!
