Please tell us how you are helping to spread the word. It is important that FairTax supporters tune in and support this effort by Iowa's US Congressional Representative, Steve King. Contact your own representative and ask them to be part of this discussion even if they are in opposition to the FairTax. UPDATE from Rep. King's Press Sec. Matt Lahr: Right now we anticipate the Special Order taking place around 6 p.m. tomorrow night. Obviously, that could change, but that is the tentative time we are being told. The Special Order will be aired on CSPAN. Congressman King is working to have several other members join him on the floor tomorrow night. House leadership has asked Congressman King to mention President Obama’s plans for tax increases, so the Congressman and other members will be contrasting these planned tax hikes with the FairTax and all it can do to stimulate our economy. I will send around a brief statement from the Congressman on the Special Order later today that you can post online if you would like. Let me know if you have any questions.

If not, won't many of them leave, and if they do, won't the event get ignored by the reps and media? I hope not.

I can't help but feel I am getting the cold shoulder from his office. Any suggestions on how to handle this brick wall in the future?

Mr. Hunt,

I’m terribly sorry that I’ve missed your calls. I’m also Congressman Larson’s chief of staff so I’m very rarely at my desk to take calls unfortunately. I was not aware that Rep. King was going to be speaking on HR25 on Tuesday. Congressman Larson has a full schedule that evening and will not be able to attend. We’re certainly aware of the issue though, as Congressman Larson is a member of the Ways and Means committee.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we will certainly pay attention to this issue in the future.

I guess you can cAll Rep. King's Office and ask. I'll send an email and ask as well for further clarity.

All I can say tonight is that his press secretary was supposed to send me more info when they had it nailed down. I can only guess that they have not gotten it nailed down any better than that.
