I think this would be a great addition for FairTax Nation and FairTax.org. I would like to hear your views on this idea. Maybe there could be spot on this site where we could have weekly focus on different Internet sites, such as Aol, Aol, Yahoo, Earthlink etc... We could go to these sites and leave comments for article ideas. All these sites have contact info. Everybody can blitz these sites to ask them to do an article on the Fairtax. Maybe if they get many request they will run an article. For Instance AOL has been running alot of tax articles. Maybe two or three sites to focus on a week would be good. Let me know what you think?
I think your "...Get out the Word Idea" is a good one. How, and are we going to do it is the real question. When we speak of "getting out the word" I have been asking myself, why are we not hearing more from the old, tried and true conventions of news media. What would it take for those concentional news media to develope an intrest in something good and positive for the American people. How can we focus our collective voices to cause the conventional media to recognize the importance of this issue and motivate them to be a part of the solution instead continuing to pedal the same old "news" about a broken system with broken promises that is part of the problem. Maybe the old standard way of the conventional news media has truly been passed up, and the internet is the only dependable way to move news of this new day.
Could it just be that internet sites recognize the advantages the Fair Tax would offer them along with the rest of us. Maybe somebody sees the light... Maybe somebody is thinking outside the box..
What do you think about raising some money to put an add on the Nashville FM Stations talk show... We would need to raise about 3,ooo dollars to have a 60 second commercial on each day for a month.
I would be willing to kick in the first 100 bucks to get it going.
I think your idea of using the talk radio stations is a great one. Appreciate your offer plant the "first seed". But...
After thinking on the idea for a time; I started searching through radio stations that are streaning programing onto the internet. ( A learning experieince for me.) SOOOOO, how about applying Mark's idea regarding the internet sites to the talk radio stations?
If individuals are listening to the streamed programing and submit emails to them regarding Fair Tax issuses. I believe program host would be encouraged to speak to those issues. Submitted issues would focus for comments and indicate that people are listening for the content of comments.
There is probably someone on the Fair Tax Nation who has a much better understand of the mechanics of this type of effort. This is just an expansion into another media, of the thought started by Mark. I believe we have a tremendious untapped resource, in these radio host, available to us if individuals are willing to write share concerns with these host; I believe they will become our speakers...
I believe your 'first seed" and others to be gathered should be saved to support future events... I believe the building of relationships with radio host, even if it is email only, will add power to the Fair Tax movement.
I think that every avenue should be chased down and investigated. You are welcome to set up a group for this purpose. The key to it is taking the time to contact others on this site to help you in your endevour. Can you coordinate this effort? IF so, go for it! If not, maybe you could work with some other effort that is being undertaken and develope a network of freinds to help you wilth this in a few weeks.
Just another idea.........if a really well done, professional video were done and it were to go "viral" on YouTube, that could get the word out to a LOT of folks. You could literally reach a million or more people with very little in the way of production costs. Once it went viral, you'd attract media attention and then be able to get interviews in print media, television, radio, internet radio, etc.
