Permits? - we shouldn't need any stinking permits! - "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." - 1st Amendment, United States Constitution
Now that I have that off my chest, I assume the permit covers everything from our gathering at the IRS to our procession to the Capitol steps. Might that also cover any speakers that we can arrange for as well? (either at the IRS or the Capitol building). Again, how about Linder and/or King? I heard on the Boortz show this morning that he is planning a full hour's worth of discussion about the FairTax on his program one week from today (that would be on Wednesday, 8/5) beginning at 10am. Maybe Neale might like to join us? I will do my best to contact Boortz and make sure the word gets out - should I ask him to participate?
I also plan to start contacting local radio shows in the Jacksonville area to spread the word - I encourage all of you to do the same. I'm still working on getting some Public Service Announcements done in the state of Florida and some paid 30 second sound bites as well.
I know this event seems to have sprung up out of nowhere and might have caught a lot of you off-guard, but we need everyone of you - every "FairTaxer" to come aboard and either attend the event or at least help promote it. Arise, FairTax NATION, and be heard!

It was actually very easy to take care of the permit. I was really suprised. If they declined the permit I would be quite willing to get arrested over it if I had to do so.

Ummm, ok - I'm glad to hear it was easy to get the permit that we should not have needed anyway. Like you, I would be there without one.
Now, what about my other questions? What does the permit cover? Can we have speakers? If so, where? Do we want to consider this? Yada, yada, etc., etc.

Again, how about Linder? How about King? How about Chambliss? How about Boortz? How about my own Congressman Mica? How about getting all of the sponsors and cosponsors together for at least a photo op?
Where and when should we have them speak? At the IRS or the Capitol steps?
I think we have a really good event planned along with a really good schedule - but, in my honest opinion, we need some frosting for the cake.
Let's keep going forward with this!

Have you though about maybe Kevin Jackson? He spoke briefly at the MO rally.
He's a talk radio show host, author of "The Big Black Lie", and his blog, the black sphere, is gaining popularity. Big Fair Tax fan. I've been in contact with him, as well as his publicist. He's very willing to come speak for us at an event; just wants us to contact him & let him know.

Will you be having any speakers at this event. If so, then I would like to offer myself.
I am a Young Conservative candidate who is currently founding a Grassroots organization for the unification of OCnservatives all around the country under core values.
I am as fired up about the Fair Tax as anyone else could ever possibly try to be. Lowering taxes is not enough, it is the IRS that is the problem, and the Fair Tax will not only fix the problem, but will put into place an answer that works.

You would be welcome but just know that we would also welcome a liberal FairTax supporter such as Jessica Wexler to speak as well. Lets not forget that FairTax Nation is a bipartisan site even if some of us are partisanly pationate about other issues at the same time.
We ALL hate the tax code and want the IRS to be put out of business! This is something that ALL sides should come to agree on.
I would love to invite Jessica Wexler to speak as well, in fact, I will!
