I am on it. There are three declared Republican candidates - Jon Russell is a supporter http://www.jonrussell.us/, David Castillo is a supporter - http://www.castilloforcongress.com/home/ and Jaime Herrera - http://jaimeherrera.com/ Her position is unknown. Please help me reinforce the supporters and ask Jaime to become a supporter. I have told her she would be legitimately criticized if she is not a supporter since both of her R opponents are. No D's have declared yet.

I believe Baird dropped out because he knew he would lose in 2010.

We need to make sure we are not getting lip service. Get a promise in writing that once elected, thay will cosponsor. This may also help us understand who is more likely to be a supporter.

Castillo has it on his site - by name. Russell pulled a weasel move by stating that a 'national sales tax' was a good idea. Herrera is a state legislator in a FairTax (i.e. no income tax) state. I am working on her.

The front runner is not clear yet. Before Jaime Herrera threw her hat in the ring, I would have said David Castillo. Jaime is a very young (31) articulate state legislator and a conservative. My opinion is that she is too inexperienced for DC. If it were held today, it would probably be Castillo. After I met with him, he made the FairTax central to his platform.

Thanks for your response. So it seems, strictly from a FairTax view and based on your above comments, that we would prefer Mr. Castillo - unless Ms. Herrera also comes out in favor of the FairTax.

Yes. I would not trust Russell to actually be a leader on it. He would probably vote in favor if asked but would not carry the flag.

Jaime has name recognition and good looks. Never discount that.
