Fair Tax Nation

Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

I am District Director for NJ-8. I am trying to start a weekly letter campaign to the House Ways and Means Committee. I believe any real effort for Federal tax reform will have to start with this Committee.

My goal is to have a campaign that runs up to April 15th.

I have compiled an Excel spreadsheet that has the contact information for each member that can be used as a Word mail merge. I have also attached my first letter.

I faxed the letter to each Representative's DC and home office and I followed up by mailing the same to each office.

Next Monday I hope to send a letter that talks about the FairTax as the best economic stimulus idea. In the future I will try to follow up with a short letter that edits the ideas from each chapter in the book.

I am trying to get everybody to also send letters to the Committee members.

Thank you.

Contacting them by mail is a good suggestion. The problem with sending a letter is that it it must be screened in New Jersy. However, if you send a postcard, it goes directly to the DC office. Another thing to consider, if the document is a "standardized form letter" type communication, the response is we already saw that. But on the other hand, if the item is handwritten and is more personal appearance, it gets more attention. I often use a combination of a preprinted postcard with space for an individual message handwritten.

Just a thought for you to consider.
Sorry looked in wrong forum.

They look good will do the same here.

Are you going to continue once a month or week. If so what date. I always think of the 15th :>)
Earl - I plan on doing 7 or 8 leading up to April 15. So about one every 1 1/2 weeks. I hope to send my next one by Tuesday which will outline why the FairTax is the best economic stimulus.

This my second letter to the House Ways and Means Committee. I would appreciate it if others could send it to. I have attached an Excel spreadsheet with each member's contact info. I faxed and mailed it to both offices. I was disappointed with the response from FairTaxers to my first letter. It looks like no one likes this approach. I will continue on, although it would be great if the district Directors that have a Representative on the Committee got their people to send at least a letter to their own Representative.

Thanks

Dear Representative _________:

WHAT WOULD BE THE MOST STIMULATIVE FEDERAL TAXATION PROGRAM?

THE FAIRTAX!

Eliminating the payroll tax for employees and employers would inject over $800 billion into the US economy over the next year. Half of this would go directly to employees via a 7.6+% increase in every paycheck. Citizens could decide how to spend, save or invest this money. The other half would go directly to companies that create and maintain jobs. All of this with no administrative cost to the Federal government. How can you make this happen? Pass the FairTax legislation!

In an article in Financial Week, it is estimated that US companies could repatriate as much as $655 billion in foreign earnings if the Federal tax on foreign subsidiaries was eliminated. Imagine the effect this capital would have on today’s credit markets if it was deposited in US banks. How can you make this happen? Pass the FairTax legislation!

Some estimates say that over $11 trillion of the world’s wealth is held in Offshore Financial Centers (OFCs). Pass the FairTax legislation, which eliminates taxes on interest income, dividend income and capital gains and that money will come rushing into US banks. Imagine the effect this capital would have on today’s credit markets.

I respectfully request that a vigorous debate about the FairTax be the most important issue the House Ways and Means Committee addresses this year.

Sincerely,

Thomas J. Freeman
