Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

Is there any discussion of some sort of hybrid system where you'd have say a lower FairTax rate, no tax for say couples making under $300k, then a flat tax after that? Would that lose more supporters than it would gain?

I think the best system out there is the Fair Tax. I have thought about variations on the Fair Tax, however. Doing away with the prebate, for one, and simplifying things. Also, I have a plan for fixing/privatizing the Social Security system that works with the Fair Tax. But I like the Fair Tax as it is now because it has tons of support, and that is what is needed to abolish the I.R.S.

As far as I can tell the chances of it passing in its present form are zero to nil. It appears to have the support of a growing number of Republicans, but the Republicans are irrelevant these days. What has to happen is that either you use it to unite the Republican party or else you go after hard core Democrats. In order to go after hard core Dems, you need to make it more populist. Don't bring up privatizing social security in the same conversation, either, unless you want to kill the idea of the FairTax.
This site is not to debate the fine points of FairTax. It is strictly to promote the grassroots efforts to pass it as it is written.

There are plenty of places to debate the worthiness of the FairTax Act out there on the internet.

This is not one of them.

End of discussion.
