Fair Tax Nation

Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

Since Article V of the U.S. Constitution allows for either 2/3 of both house of the Congress or 2/3 of the states to add an amendment to abolish the IRS and the federal income tax, would it be a good move to encourage state legislatures to begin this process to amend the constitution. Would it put more pressure on Congress to act? Would we be more successful with state legislatures since some are now now talking states rights as a means of resisting what is happening in Washington?

Interesting you bring up this subject. I spoke with my father earlier this evening. I keep him abreast of the Fair Tax movement. He told me there was an article in the Wall Street Journal about the possibility of having enough state legislatures passing The Fair Tax on the sate level becoming the impetus for Congress convening a Constitutional Convention for passage of The Fair Tax on the federal level.

This would coincide with Judge Andrew Napolitano's statement on Glenn Beck's Friday T.V. show to take back the government by having states require Congress to call for a Constitutional Convention to abolish the Federal Income tax code and the IRS.
