Fair Tax Nation

Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

I have family in the Pa 3rd district so I wrote Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper (D) a letter asking if she supported the Fairtax. Can anybody tell me what her response means? I thought the H. R. 25 Fairtax bill is alive and well in the 111th congress. Not according to Congresswoman Dahlkemper. Her response is below:

Dear Friend,

Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 25, the Fair Tax Act of 2009. I am glad you have taken the time to share your thoughts about it with me.

H.R. 25 was introduced by Representative John Linder. The purpose of this bill is to repeal the income tax, employment tax, and estate and gift tax, and poses a national sales tax on the use or consumption in the United States of taxable property or services.

There is currently no legislation on the floor regarding this particular topic. However, please be assured that I will keep your views in mind should the full House consider H.R. 25 in the 111th Congress.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your views with me. I hope that you will continue to keep me informed of your views on this and other issues of interest to you. Sincerely,

Kathy Dahlkemper
Member of Congress

It means that it simply hasn't and isn't being debated in the House. Trust me, HR 25 is alive and ok, but I wouldn't say just yet that it's "well". That's where we come in.
I want to see that improvement by the end of the year, if I have anything to say about it.

Some other questions you may pose to her are, "why isn't this legislation on the floor?" and "do you support it?" and, if she doesn't support it, ask her why or what her specific reservations are. Try to be prepared with your defense. Remember, if she says "not enough research", you can easily field that one. It's the most researched tax plan in history.

I've been trying to get answer from my representative for months regarding his specific reservations. I get a general response letter every time. I'm currently waiting to hear from him again. I always thank him for responding, then point out that he still has not answered my question. We'll see what the next letter says.
This is a form letter that is pushed out by the office staff. The Rep may or may not have seen your letter. She is correct in saying there is "no leglislation on the floor".

You need to let her know she must become fully aware of HR-25 and declare her position on the bill "IF SHE WANTS TO BE RE-ELECTED" and not "should the full House consider H.R. 25". Invite her to provide three items she has some concern about with the Fair Tax. Let her know that you are willing to assist her tax aide with any questions and would like the chance to speak with her or her aide.

With specific questions, it puts them on the spot so they should not respond with a form letter.
I'm w/ chiefcook and Miss Nancy on this one-you got the brush-off.

I work w/ a group "conservatives of PA." They are handy w/ current legislation and things pertinant to PA. However, they are set on rebuilding Republocrat Party and are religious types. Very nice folks.

Looked for your dist on their map and they have a coalition of 20 people, "NW region." I would like to see cons PA embrace FairTax. They are hanging out w/ Tea Party folk and I wanna catch 'em before they are too far gone.

If you don't like these guys, check out other groups in your area to bombard this gal with mail and snap her out of it. Let us know how to help.

She could be the 1st woman DemSocialist to support....
