It's Time to Take Action!
The FairTax will pass when our grassroots membership grows large enough to demand it. We need at least 10,000 voters in each of the 41 districts represented by a Member on the House Ways and Means Committee, this includes North Carolina's 2nd Congressional District. We plan ongoing Calls to Action as the FairTax groundswell builds, and contacting our supporters via e-mail is the most timely and cost-effective method available. It is very important that you provide us with a valid e-mail address so that we can communicate with you going forward. In the meantime, get involved. Plan an event, set up a FairTax table somewhere, go to a training session or just tell a friend. Take the first step, and the next step will follow.
The FairTax will change just about every aspect of our economic lives for the better, and you can help bring about this historic change. Take action!

More response from us is good, but we need the numbers of grass roots support that threatens his re-election that will get his attention. Remember most polititions are looking to get re-elected. How can we do more to get more people involved? Does anybody know the status of a Sanford Post Office sit in?

I received a reply to my e-mail as well, however I'm not too enthusiastic about it considering his push on the last stimulus package. So I replied back to him to make it more clear what i expected of him, I was courteous, and framed my statement as a suggestion but any stronger and I would be a demand. I'll save the demand for the next round, if he doesn't act soon.

As you have noticed, he is a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means so we really need to convince him that this is a good thing.

More letters and phone calls and more grass roots support.

I finally got an email response from Congressman Etheridge on official looking heading (like you would see in a letter). Still likely a staff response but FINALLY. Below is his response.

Dear Mr. Genzlinger:

Thank you for contacting me in support of H.R. 25, the Fair Tax Act of 2009. It was good to hear from you and I appreciate you taking the time to contact me.

I understand your support for H.R. 25. As you know, H.R. 25 would repeal the income tax and other taxes, abolish the Internal Revenue Service, and enact a national sales tax to be administered primarily by the States. This bill has been referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means, of which I am a member. You can be sure that I will keep your views in mind should I have the opportunity to vote on H.R. 25 in committee.

I am working with my colleagues in Congress and the Administration to respond to the challenges that face our nation. Together, we will build a stronger economy, find common sense solutions to our energy needs, make sure every child gets a quality ed! ucation, and expand access to health care for all Americans. It is an honor to represent you in Congress, and I welcome your continued input.

Sincerely,

Is Chris Medley Sen. Etheridge's chief of staff??

I just left another message requestion position on HR25. I also indicated that we are becoming frustrated that we are not getting our calls returned by Chris Medley or that our letters are not being anwered.
Keep calling, keep the heat up.
