Information

FairTax Techies

This group is meant for all Fair Tax Nation members who have advanced computer skills and can help develop OpenSocial applications that will address and solve FTN tecnical issues

Location: Cyber Space and Beyond
Members: 10
Latest Activity: Jul 2, 2010

While this group is meant for members of FTN with advanced computer skills, all members are welcome to join and leave comments, ideas and suggestions. Members with limited computer skills or knowledge may ask questions, and while we will try to provide answers - there is no gurantee we can or will answer all of them.

Here are a few issues we are working to resolve:

Automatically add members to their respective state group.
Add members in "bulk" by reading information from a data file/spreadsheet.
Send an informational notice or newsletter to members who are not "active".
Advanced search capabilities at the group level.

See the Discussions for more info.

I am Sunny Snaith, the Community Coordinator for FairTax DeKalb (DeKalb County, AL).

I'm also the new Webmaster for Alabama FairTax ( http://ALFairTax.com ). I am in the process of getting the site up and running for a launch at our July 4th Tea Party.

I would like to offer our website as a template so that other states/groups could make their own websites. I can even recommend the web host we use (the group gets a referral bonus). We may even consider hosting other groups on our account, if desired (they'd have to buy a domain name ~$10/yr. and have it point there).

Just some ideas,

I have an idea -- but need some techie help to make it work. We have the Grassroots freedom ride starting June 2. I am thinking we could put up a website with the route on it for people to follow along. Take a look at the Olympic touch really website. Could we do something like this work for the freedom ride?

While there has not been a lot of activity in this group recently, I would like to report we have been successful in updating the content of the automated message that gets email to new members. The new message is a combination of the email that Jim and Marilyn would manually send to new members and the "Greeting" that can be found under the "Communicate" tab.

Some of you may be interested in this email I recieved:

A message to all members of Tea Party Patriots

Our small development team needs help to keep pace with the growth of the Tea Party Patriots movement. We're looking for folks with the following qualifications:

LANGUAGES: ASP.NET C#
DATABASES: SQL Server 2005
DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM: Visual Studio 2008 (Must have own copy) also need Visual Source Safe to be able to access the project.

These positions are voluntary, but could potentially lead to paid independent contractor positions as funding becomes available. However, we're looking for people who are as dedicated to the movement as we are, and we need to start with volunteers.

If you are interested, please send a brief letter with qualifications to robertkgaudet@gmail.com. Please don't be offended if he doesn't respond. We're all buried in email and doing our best to respond to as many people as possible.

Thanks in advance for your willingness to help at a crucial moment in the country's history. You really can make a difference!
