Sorry this is so tardy, but I haven't checked in at Fair Tax Nation in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure where your question is aimed, but if you assumed the Fair Tax is an "adder" to current prices, that is incorrect. When the Fair Tax goes into effect, retail prices will quickly DROP as a result of the END of federal taxes on corporations. Competition will do that for us, in the same way it does now within one day for airline fares or car prices. The AVERAGE federal tax (and compliance costs) component in American product pricing is 25.9%. When that is removed and the 23% Fair Tax is added at checkout, net prices paid will be about the same, but should usually be a tad LESS. That will be true for services too. But remember, your take home pay will be 30% GREATER. Sales, production, employment and SAVINGS will all increase. Economists say the growth rate of the economy will TRIPLE. Does that answer your questioin?
I don't know what question you are referring to Pete. If you are talking about the SPECIAL TOPIC in our webinar, read the announcement again and you may get a differenct impression.

The webinar answered the question, Why does the FairTax tax services.

Aside from the question, you are not correct in stating the "average" embedded costs are 25.9%. The research stated that the embedded costs are from 20% to 25% depending on the industry (35 were identified).
However when you consider that part of those embedded costs are the payroll and withholding taxes from an employee you will conclude that if the employee is going to bring home the full paycheck then that amount of money cannot also be used to calculate the lower prices to the consumer. Prices will actually rise a little but the fact that everyone takes home a larger paycheck and gets the prebate means there is no loss in purchasing power.
