It's almost the weekend again. How will you spend your time?
There is our conference call this weekend. That's a start, but what about the other 48 hours? We have a lot of people in Iowa to educate. We need everyone to get started.
You can start by doing any number of things. If you go to a lot of social gatherings, talk to two or three people about the fair tax. Most people I talk with take little convinceing when confronted with the facts. The key is to explain how they benefit. That's an easy one.
Another thing you can do is write a letter to the editor. This is a very effective tool if you submit a letter on a regular basis. Be positive, stay local, write about local impact on jobs and the economy. Even how it affects the ability of area churches to discuss important political issues without fear of their IRS tax status.
Is there a fair tax event in your area? If there is send in a press release. Invite the public.
Would you like to organize an event? It's pretty easy to do in most cases, let me know if I can help with that.
You can also go door to door. One strategy is a voter registration drive. People are used to that, and it should give you an opportunity to bring up the fair tax. Form it as a question, maybe ask them if they realize that everyone in town will get an immediate pay raise. Just something to peak their interest.
Here is a link to a website that has lot's of info on how to make an effective press release, and the location on every newspaper is on an Iowa map. Just click on the county. It's that easy.
