Massachusetts FairTax State Director Barry Hinckley called me yesterday with news.
After a period of reflection, Barry has decided to turn down lucrative opportunities and retire, move to his house in Rhode Island and devote his life to political reform. The FairTax will play a prominent role.
Barry had built Bullhorn Communications into one of the most successful businesses in Massachusetts, creating hundreds of jobs, many of which are high-paying. Barry had grown tired of working long hours, which he believed were starting to take a toll on his health, and giving away much of the fruit of his labor to the government.
Barry's first project will be to become the next U.S. Senator from Rhode Island, replacing Sheldon Whitehouse in 2012. Barry has not decided yet whether to run as a Republican or as an Independent.
Barry has a project that he will unveil shortly as a precursor to his run.
We may get a co-sponsor from Rhode Island shortly. Stay tuned ... .
