I agree that we are preaching to the choir, that is why we need help in your district to organize meet ups, have tables at events, etc to expand the base of FairTax supporters. In another forum, like 912 or some others you can seek candidates that you like. We are non partisan and would welcome candidates that support the FairTax. The work at hand is to build the number of FairTax supporters so that those elected officials and those running for office will need to pay serious attention.
I am asking for help in your district to push FairTax forward.

Respectfully John, I understand that you want to keep this discussion to the fair tax only but at the same time if we only talk about it, amongst ourselves, what is there to talk about? We all support it and for
1) we are preaching to the chior to dream on about it becoming a reality
2) we will not be able to figure out ways in finding candidates that will run for office who are schooled concerning it, as well as supportive of the Fair Tax to actually push it forward where it counts, in government. That IMHO, is the work at hand.

A new website, www.billybarepockets.com has been launched. The website is dedicated to helping conservative candidates (not just republican) get elected. One issue that Billy specifically focuses on is the candidate's thoughts on taxation, particularly if they will support the Fair Tax initiative.

Please take a moment to visit the site and show your support for what these folks are trying to do for all of us.

You can also look forward to hearing Billy on Nation wide radio networks very soon talking about the very issues that are important to all of us.

By the way, I am the NC Republican Party First District Chairman, and the Chairman of the Greene County Republican Party. Greene County is where conservatives (republicans) are outnumbered considerably, about 7900 democrats to about 1700 republicans.

The problem is we have meetings for the republican party, where everyone can express their concerns and nominate someone to run for office against Butterfield. However, from my experience, after making phone calls, posting in the paper and having tv and radio adds for meetings to get Conservatives together, 10-15 people show up, and they are apathetic because of the lack of turn out. If you want to make a difference, don't just blog online, actively particapate in your party. YOU, the idividual can make a difference in the direction you want the Conservative Party to go. Lets face it, there will be no viable third party and the Democrats are ultra liberal if not socialist. PLEASE!! particpate in your local Republican party and then WE, together as conservatives can make a difference, and raise money, and choose great candidates. Thats what political parties are for.
Its easy to say that Dean Stephens didn't spend any campaign money, he didn't get any. The state party had pretty much pushed us to the side and said that the seat is not winable. We have change in the administration of the GOP on the state level and I have every confidence that the party will help us unseat Butterfield.

I am interested in forming a group to find a conservative to run against G.K. Butterfield. We can't depend on the Republican party. In 2008, Republican Dean Stephens raised and spent no campaign money. Butterfield raised $792,329 and spent $688,694. In 2006 Butterfield raised $387,424 and spent $324,758 while being unapposed!! I've been told that Republicans do not want to run a campaign against Butterfield because of local elections. They feel that the Democrats will turn out more and defeat Republicans in close local elections. This is croc. I'm in Lenoir County. Please help me find people in the other 21 counties to form a coalition and defeat Butterfield. Spread the word. It can form from this forum.

Getting rid of G.K. Butterfield in the next election is a must!
