Fair Tax Nation

Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

Jim T. asked me about sort of leading this group, but I declined and suggested that perhaps Larry or David might be the logical choice as they've been around a lot longer, etc. I'll be as active as possible and help in anyway that I can, it's just that I have my plate full these days.

Either of you willing to be our "Dear Leader" (North Korean style) ?

I re-titled this thread and I'm going to attempt to "revive" it so that we can generate some discussion on these two simple, but important topics.

Folks, we've simply GOT to have a NAME for our group and we've GOT to have someone designated as our Leader. We can't continue as a viable group without both of these things in place.

Any group name suggestions?

Anyone want to step forward and offer their services as our Leader?
I nominate David. He's been active and has a good handle on the FTN web site too! - Larry
I 2nd his nomination! How many more do we need to "draft" him?
I, too, think Dave would make a great "face" for the group. Does this mean he's drafted by acclamation?
About group name, I vote for keeping some sort of loose civic/non-profit/community affiliation simply for press releases/calendar updates name recognition. Even though all of these suggestions would be without sanction at the moment, my best guess - FairTax-Lookout Chapter/Brigade or SE Tenn. FairTax Chapter/Brigade. To me, chapter connotes affiliation, brigade connotes purposeful action. Also, even tho it might limit draw, we could consider Scenic City FairTax Chapter/Brigade. Other than that, guys, I've pondered and fretted about this aspect of our quest until I'm fresh out of ideas so y'all just let me know when it's time to vote and the slate - whatever it turns out to be.
How about...............Southeast Regional FairTax Coalition? Could be abbreviated as: SERFC or SERFTC.

This doesn't mention the state, just the region, which would include anyone just over the border in Georgia who wanted to be a part of our group.

Webster defines coalition as: "A temporary alliance of distinct parties, persons, or states for joint action."

What do you all think?
I think I like this. Coalition is a good description for us, and Southeast Regional is pretty inclusive.
I like this suggestion a lot. It certainly lends itself to working with both the TEA Party folks (who ARE planning a July 4th event) and the Republican Liberty Caucus folks on occasion which should allow more opportunities for us to offer FairTax as the answer.
I like it!
