According to a survey taken by Tea Party Patriots http://www.teapartypatriots.org/uncategorized/2012-tea-party-patrio...

Ron Paul supports abolishing the Income Tax and repealing the 16th Amendment.

Seems to me real estate commissions would fall under services, as in new goods and services.  New goods=new house, but it can only be taxed by the Feds once.  They can keep their hands off it otherwise, as many states rely on property for their tax base.

I wrote to Cathy and also called her office in Spokane.  Sometimes I wonder if the staff people really get these messages to her or if they just end up in file 13.  The fair tax is the only way everyone will have skin in the game and eliminate the IRS.  The states are already set up to collect the tax.

Well,

My latest letter is off to Cathy, how about the rest of you? Also started to re read the Fair Tax book again. Every time I do that it feels good.

I was disappointed with her voting for the increase in debt ceiling also.  If you notice, she is always standing right behind Boener at the press conferences.  Everyone send her an email and call her office to voice our opinion for the Fair Tax.  Keep everyone informed of your results here.

Cathy also replied to me with the same form letter a while back. I think it is time for everyone in 5th to hit it again with her. There is so much change involved with this that it will take a real study for anyone looking in at it to understand it. It will not be an easy sell. She is no exception and I want her to read the book and then tell me right from her mouth she does or does not support or understand it. No politics answers are acceptable on this one. I would even send her the book if she would promise to read it.

I became a little miffed at her when she backed the budget expansion deal earlier this year. I thought she should have opposed it on just the principal of the whole thing. I thought that was a little telling. We either have budget limits or we don’t. We either live with in budget, our constitution or we don’t. It’s all one and the same things. I for one am watching what she does now. If she does not stand tall, I would not hesitate to send her home with the rest of them. The principal is Term limits you know and we can impose them even if they will not.

The flat tax is still an income tax. How do you collect it on the underground economy?

The IRS needs to be eliminated.  Look at all the money we could save just from that alone.  Everyone has skin in the game with the Fair Tax.  Like you say, Gregory, I really think Cathy is leaning more toward the flat tax.

Cathy responded to me earlier this year about the FairTax.  She was concerned that it was regressive and wouldn't provide enough revenue. Hopefully she has become better informed.  My fear is that she leans toward the flat tax as that would keep the 16th and the IRS intact.  She's not ready to support anything as bold as the FairTax until the Republican Party endorses it officially.  I'm afraid that both major parties are loath to support the FairTax as they aren't ready to lose the money and power they reap from manipulating the Income Tax Code.

Steve, you talking to the Choir here.  We agree on everything and I have spoke to Cathy at the townhouse meeting she had in Newport about the fair tax.  She does support either a fair or flat tax depending on what reform the congress can agree upon.

Jimmy, the founders said that the tax system should be a consumption tax. That is because it was a Fair Tax.  Personal liberty in this country has been taken in the name of the Income tax since its adoption. That mentality is extremely disturbing due to the fact that without personal freedoms like making our own health care decisions we will be just like any other 3rd world country waiting for the UN to show up with some sort of relief, we are already being numbed down on every level. Our manufacturing has all left the country and who can blame them, Free enterprise after all seeks opportunity and profit and there is nothing wrong with that. With them went a lot of the best talent and capital, we are left now with the (EDUCATED) or should I say the brainwashed who just don't even know the difference or how to make something work without having a big government grant of some kind involved and even then like the most recent solar mess can’t make it work.  Of course compounding the problem is the multi levels of regulations here that say you can't do that.  To that I say why not? Are we now too good to do some of the things our forefathers have done to build this into a great nation?  Is a spotted owl really more important than people and their families’ survival? If there is one thing I know for sure it is that everything is in a constant change in this world. That is of course except true principals. The Fair Tax is one of those principals that just is right. We all need to write Cathy Mc Morris Rodgers and ask her to support the fair tax.    Steve
