I responded to Robert Romano, Senior Editor of ALG News, who had a quote from you about the FT. Here is the text of my reply:
Subject: Please educate yourself on the FairTax
Robert,
Your comments show your ignorance. JoAnn Whitlow is correct – although two years may be a little aggressive to pay off the debt – I’d say it’s closer to 2 ½ or 3. Additionally, Americans would never stand for a NST and an income tax. The people would revolt. The FT makes the IRS impotent and irrelevant – then it makes no difference if 16 is repealed or not.
So, are you ready for a challenge? Name anything that’s better for our economy, unemployment, foreclosures, stock market, debt, etc than the FairTax. If you do, I will truly be in awe of you since no one else has ever named anything better. But being open minded, I will switch to your plan if you can show it’s better. Do you accept the challenge? After all, name anything more important than fixing our economy.
Thanks

PS Most people go silent when I issue this challenge. I’d guess they cannot come up with anything so they go dark. Will you be silent on this challenge? Will you continue to attack policies that can and will fix our economy?
