From Tim Cox:
I hope that you will each take a short moment to vote in this poll. It is at TaxDayTeaParty and asks if we should support Republicans, Democrats, or a “third party”. The question is loaded, and I am always reluctant to call GOOOH a third party, but for lack of a better term that is what we are. We are a party only in the sense that we may need to form one to get on the ballot in certain states. However, the method by which we get on the ballot will vary by state and by the timing of reaching critical mass in membership. Unfortunately, far too many people are using the third party term negatively in hopes of scaring people into voting for the Republicans. A true shame.
GOOOH’s position on this question is that, of the options given, the answer is “Third party... it's time for the two parties to be taken down.” To vote, please click http://taxdayteaparty.com/2009/12/poll-how-should-the-movement-vote.... Right now, the respondents are saying the Tea Parties need to take over the Republican Party, which I fear is a fool’s game, and fixes none of the fundamental problems with the current system. It does not take the money out of politics. It does not stop Party Bosses from telling our representatives how to vote. It does not add accountability into the process. It does not get rid of the career politicians who do not serve you or I. At best it delays the demise of our nation. At worse, it continues the decline with little or no change.
Remember, the Republicans were in COMPLETE control from 2000 to 2006. What did they do to control the deficit? What did they do to seal our borders or fix the corrupt tax code. What did the Republicans do to put an end to the lunacy of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in 2005? What did they even do to ensure that a prayer could be said before a high school football game?
My hope is that you will invite others who understand the Republican Party is a big part of the problem, not the solution, to vote as well.
