FairTax leaders, As you know The FairTax Act of 2009 was introduced to Congress again as HR 25. Our thanks to Congressman Linder’s office for that and we’re still waiting to see what the Senate bill will be. It was very encouraging to see a record number of original co-sponsors and others sign on even since then. Some emails have already gone out about the sunset language at the end of the new bill (Section 401) and we expect that portion to ease some legitimate concern and erase a political smokescreen as well. This is the time of year we usually gear back up to tell the politicians it’s in their vital interests to add their name to the bill. We have some trifolds, tshirts, hats and lots of bumper stickers and magnetic signs to help your groups educate folks. Other than the website, we think the trifolds (or printout sheets based on that format) are still the best option to sign new people up as they tend to write neater, include more email addresses and local people can get a better sense of their level of support. If local groups can data enter the information onto the template spreadsheets that just makes our job here easier and costs less. The website homepage has some new features like the Meet the FairTax Network (http://www.fairtax. org/grassroots_ volunteer), a chart comparing the Obama tax plan to the FairTax (http://www.fairtax. org/obama_ talkingpoints) and even a way to send a message through our site right into www.change.gov. (www.fairtax. org/obama) Also, if you blog much there are quite a few more widgets and banners to display at http://www.fairtax. org/downloads_ widgets. In a year that will see a huge economic focus, we have the best answers for this crisis and look forward to building on past year’s progress in 2009. Thanks so much for all your work and dedication!
