JEFF PARNELL’S STATEMENT ON THE FAIR TAX
“A great many Missourians and others across America know where I stand on implementation of HR 25, the Fair Tax Act, which Congressman John Linder (R-GA) introduces each legislative year. I have been a supporter of the Fair Tax for nearly ten years. I have written about it in my regular newspaper column and even created a song about it, “Perhaps We Need A Tea Party Again” that has been heard worldwide. I have participated in events all over Missouri and as far away as Nashville, Tennessee, and Orlando, Florida, the 2006 Orlando event being one of the first major “Tea Party” gatherings of the new millennium.
In 2008, when the U.S. Congress opted to bail out those entities which were “too big to fail” I suggested that it would be an excellent time to enact the Fair Tax rather than doing the only thing that the careerists in Washington know to do, which is spend the confiscated and future wealth of the nation. When Senator John McCain visited Missouri in 2008, I publicly asked him about the Fair Tax, and received a typical politician’s answer (see YouTube link below).
Therefore, let it be known across the land that I hereby pledge to the citizens of the great state of Missouri that if I should be elected to the congress, I will indeed co-sponsor HR 25, The Fair Tax Act, and will work to see it enacted.
No other candidate of stature in Missouri’s 4th Congressional District primary has taken a stand on this issue…Don’t send a politician to do a statesman’s job”
