My poem for americans, we need to wake up

Asleep

America, the sleeping giant,
We can no longer be still in slumber,
No longer can we be silent.

Our father’s fought hard to ensure our freedom,
Their hands bloodied, bruised, and beaten,
Our children look at us now, look what we leave them.

Our time is now to awaken and take back our rights.
We can no longer lie down, eyes closed,
We must defend liberty and fight.

Our leaders, so called, saviors, are only defiant.
Offering bread, and shelter for power,
They prey on the weak, and beat opposition compliant.

If V stands for victim, and a victim equals a vote,
Then Our Saviors we empower are a knife on Democracies throat.

Alone stands lady Liberty, forgotten she weeps,
For everyday strong back boned men fall in with the sheep.

And yet still, still, the giant he sleeps…
