Fair Tax Nation

Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

19th District ILCongressman John Shinkus reply against Fair Tax.

How should I word my next letter to Congressman Shimkus? He always uses the same form letter to reply to my request that he study and sign on as a co-sponser.

"Without repealing the 16th Amendment first, future Congresses could reinstate the income tax burdening Americans with both an income tax and a national sales tax."

Thank you for your help,

> Robert, You could point out that there is nothing preventing Congress from enacting a sales tax or a VAT tax now. You might add that once the FairTax is in place, it will be so painfully clear to all Americans how much our government is costing, that to add another tax on top of it would be political suicide. Once all the hidden taxes are gone it will be very hard to hide them back.
> You might also inform him that since he doesn't support a real tax reform, instead of a continuation of the current debacle your campaign contributions will be going to a candidate who does support the FairTax.
Once the average American has experienced less than two years of receiving their full paycheck, receiving monthly prebate payments and have a period of time where they do not have to keep records to file their annual income tax forms, they will demand the repeal of the 16th amendment. That process will become a lot easier. We would still have two election cycles to get rid of any non-complient politicians.
