Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25
About the 2009 blitz.
Many have been wondering what I was Talking about in January about a "2009 FairTax Blitz".
Don't you think its time to get this thing rocking?
I'm sure most all of you have heard the expression "A chain is only as strong as its weakest link." The meaning of this is that a chain rated at, say, 3,000 lbs of lift cannot lift that much if it has just one single link that will not bear that wieght. The weakest link devalues the entire chains strenght down to that links strenght.
How does this relate to the FairTax movement? We must build every state to be as stong as our strongest state. We must build every congressional district to be as strong as our strongest congressional district.
We need to inspire others to do all they can. We have got to make these weak states shine!
For example, Rhode Island has zero members. What can we do to change that? What can we do to go from zero all the way to 1,000 FairTax Nation members?
Would that not be a great acomplishment for us? Start putting your heads together as to how we can do this. Churches send missonaries. Maybe we need to do the same thing.
How will we do this? Will we look like a rag tag crew with hand painted signs that we threw together at the last minute? We could but I do not think it will net us very much for all the work we will be putting into it.
I have a plan but I want to hear some of your ideas first. I'll use them to make the plan better and post it after Rep. King does his "Special Order' in Congress on Tuesday night.
What things do you think we need to do to grow both FairTaxNation.com and FairTax.org ?

I have mentioned this before. You can go to the state that needs attention, then zero in on the cities.
Each city has a chamber of Commerce and usually a members list, most with websites/email addresses. Based on the industry, email an informative PDF from the FairTax.org website. The same goes for associations like the "Home Builders", usually small carpentors, plumbers or electricians. Realtors asscociations lists agents by the handfuls with emails, they want their own calls. You can keep on and on all the different ones that we can reach from our homes. A nationwide blitz from 2000 different email addresses, hard to filter out.

This is a fantastic idea actually. You can very easily look up the official city website of any city in America just about (don't believe me? Check out Falls City, MO, a whopping 4,500 people and they have a website!). From there you could also contact their local chambers.
How do we want to organize contacts? Do we want to start with largest cities and their chambers? Or smallest? Chambers and businesses, or straight to councils and commissionors?

I can not really tell, I have no way of measuring results. I do know that I have very little kick backs on emails not being received. I send invitations to join here and FairTax.org with the info files from FairTax according to their industry. Really just trying to educate them and secure their confidence that this a good thing. Again education and awareness even if no signature comes along with it. If it ever becomes a voting issue I know that several hundred will have been informed, maybe by then several thousand just from me.

I have made up some business cards. One side promotes www.fairtax.org and our local AFFT group monthly meetings. The second side promotes FTN national site as well as out local Central Florida Group site.
We pass these cards out at any events we have such as the trade show or booth locations where we get the Post Cards signed.
I also go to other events, the shopping malls, grocery store etc wearing my Fair Tax shirt and cap. I hand them out to everyone that looks twice at my shirt and anyone that mentions it. They are easy to carry and hand out without too much invading their space.
Microsoft Word has the template to print the business cards. You buy the card stock and create your own. They can be made to look very professional.

You can upload a WORD document in a discussion. At the bottom of the box (on the left side) where you type a message is a control that reads "Upload Files". This is where you can attach your file before you "Add Reply" (on the right side of the box)
The Upload Files tab is under construction. This would be a central tab for all members of the FTN. Your file would only apply to Georgia Members so it should be posted under the Group Site for Georgia. Local Groups can use their local site to provide files to their local group. As an example, I have placed the Post Card Program information under the Central Florida Group. Everyone around the Country can download the Post Card file but they will need to modify it as the Senator Names are for Florida not other States. This is an easy change. You could replace the addresses on pages 3 and 4 with all your GA names and add the mailing addresses for House Members. Then correct the Senator names and addresses. Once completed, you could then post the file on the Georgia State Group site for everyone in GA to use. Once the "Upload Files" tab is working there will be a Post Card file with generic (space identifiers) names and address locations that can be modified for the individual States by anyone that wants to use it.

Also, don't forget to contact your state legislators. While they don't have anything to do with federal legislation, if we can get a state to enact a state FairTax, that would serve as a proving ground for a national FairTax.
In addition, it will be easier to get support from Democrats at the state level because they don't have the pressure to oppose the FairTax from the federal House and Senate leadership.
There is no reason for anyone to oppose the FairTax based on ideological grounds. The concept is not liberal or conservative. Most opposition comes from embedded politicians who don't want to lose their power. Unfortunately, they have been successful in convincing many of their constituents to join them in opposition.
