Constitutional Convention II

Great feedback from CC I. Thank you. It seems as though everyone understands the nature of such an endeavor (CC) and that it is in deed very risky. Had this topic come up 10 or 20 years ago the fear of what socialist types would attempt to do would have been considerably less. But we are in the present and must take action. As quickly as this administration is moving to the left how much of our constitution, in it's original intent, will remain in a few years? Being bold has always been an an attribute of Americans. So lets be bold (intelligently) . I say push the envelope and go for it. If 2/3 of the states will support the Fair Tax proposal, we go in with a narrow objective(to repeal the 16th amendment) and do what we can to stopping any other changes to the constitution. If we can not get to 2/3 then I am certain that the momentum would force the congress to make the change. Of course we run the risk that congress will create a consumption tax and not repeal the 16th. For decades now the American people have stood by and watched politicians reduce our liberties. May be it is time to end complacency.
I understand and support the term limits but that went nowhere in the 90's when we had a much more conservative government. Power is power and our politicians do not want to lose it. So we may just need to force the issue of liberty and freedom by means of a CC. The Fair Tax plan is the only thing out there that will reign in the fed. governments power. Lord knows they have been pushing the Constitution to the side for some time now.
