Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

Post messages regularly to CraigsList.org, in the Politics or Events catagories. I just posted one on CraigsList.org Hampton Roads Virginia (southeast) area, that reads:

Overhaul the Income Tax System

Or should I say "Replace the Federal Tax Sysytem"? Since 1913, the federal income tax system has grown to 67,000 pages. Corporations pay for experts to explain and advise, as much as $900 per person in the US. We each spend 20 to 24 hours gathering our receipts and forms each year for our tax expert to complete our taxes. Since corporate taxes are simply added to retail prices, American companies are encouraged to set up overseas to avoid having to charge high prices.

It's time to consider a total replacement of the way we collect money for the federal government. Consider a simple sales tax, since all taxes eventually ride through the system to retail sales, anyway. 22 percent of the money you spend on new items goes to pay someone ELSES income tax. Let's simply send that money straight to Uncle Sam, and avoid all the middle men overhead and complexity.

Take home pay won't go down, and prices shouldn't go up (unless take home pay increases). The overhead expense of collecting and enforcing taxes will drop mearly 90 percent. Again, that'll free up $900 per person, in the US. Illegals and criminals will no longer avoid paying taxes. The tax burden will be spread over more people than just you and me, honest tax payers.

But sales tax is regressive, you say? Then let's provide a prebate to every legal citizen, to "un tax" them, the amount they need to pay to live at the poverty level. That is, let's give back the poor every dime they pay in the retail sales tax. This will "un tax" the poor, but be negligible to the rich. Everyone is treated the same. No complexity.

Check out YOHOO Answers and other similar sites. Use Advanced Search for "FairTax" and "Fair Tax" for open questions. Then correct the misinformation that is being spread. I have been doing this for a while and have about 65% "best answer" results.
Does it cost to post on Criag's List? Some of the FairTax supporters here locally are going to put an ad in a classifieds type paper that is FREE for people to pick-up and look through. From this point forward I'm always making sure that www.fairtaxnation.com is in the ad, information, or signature. Sooooo many people think & sense they are alone in supporting this legislation because of its LACK of "media" education.
Gooo FairTax!!
No. There's no charge for posting on CraigsList.org, with the exception of jobs and maybe real estate ads in a few very high priced areas, like San Francisco and New York, as I recall. It's been a year or more since I started. As I recall there's a short registration process where you might type your email, street address, and maybe phone. I don't recall having to type your credit card number, though.

I hear that CraigsList is the reason some newspaper are loosing business, because so many people post their used cars, jobs, etc there for free. CraigsList has been in the news a few times because there's a few catagories that attract perverts (stay out of the personel ads, for example). The company has only a dozen or 20 employees, and can't screen the ads as well as some would like.

The system's pretty clever, though about "spamming". I tried to post the SAME FairTax plug in the Hampton Roads Virginia locale, AND in the Cleveland Ohio locale within a few minutes of each other. The system mildly scolded me for placing similar ads so close together. I think they're also picky out full websites. Give it a try, but be prepared to "sanitize" websites, like spelling them FairTax(DOT)org, for example. OH! And ANYONE can click to say your message is "Spam". Another non-profit I support is Gigoit.org. About one out of two times I try to "plug" Gigoit.org on CraigsList, someone "flags" it for spam, and it gets deleted.

I've used CraigsList.org to sell a couple items and to fetch and give away a few "free" items. The "no show" rate is high, though. Some people say they'll come to fetch an item (especially in the "free" catagory, but never show up. I guess what I'm trying to say is: be careful. There's some unethical people out there. :-)
Very well written, Mr. Burgener. Hope ya don't mind if we borrow on it.

Was that YOU chiefcook on "yahoo answers?" Pretty impressive! I answered some questions too and meant to go back last week. thanks.

So do you guys wanna use this page to list folks we contact? Or whattayacallit, "blog?"
ChiefCook? No that's not me. No idea who ChiefCook might be. Sorry.

BTW, I've tried a couple times to copy/paste the FairTax blurb on different CraigsList.org areas, even a day or two later. They're too smart to let me spam multiple areas with the same message. Not sure how often we can post, without major re-writing. I'll keep trying.
chiefcook is the 1st FTN dude that responded to your letter.

I keep handy in my "drafts" several rants to copy. Got a bunch of good ones out of that FL myrtle beach newspaper the other week.

David Shipp, also FTN, seems to have many computer skills and may well be practiced in the art of subterfuge. When you find out which buttons to mash let us know. thanks.
