Great interview Ken with Jim Vicevich and thanks! I'm trying to build a Fair Tax base in Connecticut but so far it has been a tough sell. I'm sure your interview on a 50,000 watt station that reaches all of southern New England and parts of New York and broadcasts online nationwide will help!
> Dan, Peter Schiff is running for Senate in Connecticut. Peter is an economist, and I'd like to hear his take on the FairTax. I think he would support it. We need to get him briefed.
I asked him during a call in session to him on a local radio talk show if he would support The Fair Tax if he became Senator. He stated to support an overhaul of the income tax code but refused to commit specifically to The Fair Tax. I agree he needs to be briefed but the problem is I'm having an extremely hard time garnering support.
My goal is to build a big enough base to pressure CT politicians. I have written my Congress critters more than once and spoken with their tax aids but I'm only one person. They won't listen until there is a groundswell of support. I have also attended many Tea party rallies and gone around town handing out hundreds of Fair Tax fliers and discussed the Fair Tax with many people. Tom Wright spoke at a Fair Tax presentation last April at a local high school. People seem very receptive when I talk to them but will not take the next step to get involved. I do have two or three people who have helped on a limited basis in the past but it isn't easy getting anyone to work with me given that Connecticut is a very pro big government/socialist state. Most are under the impression it won't happen considering the Connecticut state legislature 's power over people's lives. The Fair Tax movement in other states is light years ahead of Connecticut.
All I can do is keep plugging away and hope for the best.
