Fair Tax Nation

Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

I phoned the House and Ways and Means Committee a couple of weeks ago. The staffer stated that it would probably be August before they would get the chance to review HR 25. It seems that now is a good time to contact them often and keep this bill in front of them.

http://waysandmeans.house.gov/ for contact info. You can call, write, fax, etc.

August?
Which year??
Good idea though.....we should be lobbying (yes we can lobby, we pay their salaries) the members of the committee constantly anyway.
Sadly none of my reps are on the committee.....but we can still lobby!!
Absolutely! None of my reps are on the committee, either. But doesn't the Ways and Means Committee serve the USA? In theory, at least.
Tony, do you remember when someone posted a something about a letter sent to Bush and signed by Pelosi, Rangel, and others, and addressed simplifying the tax code? Do you recall where on FTN that might be located? I couldn't copy the letter off completely and I really want to use that. I think it's a handy bullet.
I have a copy on my pc, just in case I needed it later for reference.
It should be attached to this post. If not, I could email it to you.

Randy, could you email it to me? n.gatchel@verizon.net

Thank you.
I hope I can get it formatted in such a way that I can copy it off on my printer. I don't even know how to download the word reader off Microsoft because it says I have to download it to a disk. I'm clueless!! PDF is all I have available and can utilize.
In case someone needs a pdf version, I will attach it here.

Nancy I emailed you both type files

Thank you so very much!
A few weeks ago another FTNer & myself set out to make docs we could easily hit off the ning site. He had to work and y'all got stuck w/ me (illiterate of the ning & inter net ways). but just yesterday I got some more info to hopefully help get to this site.

Wanted also a way to track the letters. How many to who? Tried "poll daddy," but that was not working well at all. Hopefully my other pal will get back to me today and I'll have something to play w/ over weekending.

My goal was to pound that w-n-means. If not them at least get postal workers and federal letter sorters talking.

p.s. There is a w-n-means committee group on FTN. Most of those guys seem away and on the job too.
As has been mentioned on a number of other discussions on this site (and many others), letters are not the way to go. I would recommend sending post cards. The letters must be sent to NJ for screening for "HAZ MAT" and can be delayed for several months! If you send a post card, it goes directly to the office pf the addressee. (It also uses less postage!) With a little knowledge of WORD you can create some VERY INTERESTING picture post cards in support of the Fair Tax. It would be intertaining to the postal workers and be at the reading level of the receipents! You can be very creative if you want!
Great idea!
At least my Rep, Kevin Brady, is both a co-sponsor of the FairTax and on the Ways and Means Committee. Although I am not all that pleased with his position on certain other issues that shall go nameless here, that is one of the reasons why I keep voting for him.

I think I'll let Rep Brady know how much I appreciate his being a cosponsor and urge him not to let us down.
