> My understanding is that the ZAPTHEIRS site is to close the 15th. Could we do something to get the whole membership transferred here? I know that there are many members in both groups, but we should try to reach as many of the others as we can to add to our strength. There are also some fringe members there who get into non FairTax discussions, but that can be limited if necessary. The whole point is to maintain contact with as many FairTax supporters as possible.

I do not know of any way other than to have an admin. from that site send out a blast email asking them to join this site.
Contact Mr. Koop and see if that is possible. Maybe it has already been done.

As much as I would love to swell the ranks of our membership, I would be opposed to a process that would automatically add the members from the ZAPTHEIRS site to FTN.
Last time I checked, this is still America (although it is becoming increasingly more difficult to recognize) - I believe Zappers deserve the freedom to make the choice for themselves and "vote" for FairTax Nation by becoming members on their own accord.
Now, I know this is not what you meant Cary, it is just how I see it.

I'm still a member of Zap and have received e-mails stating that people should continue their support of the FairTax and come over to FTN.
They do however point out that FTN has not been the best to Zap....but still point people over here.
So the invitation has been sent...we'll see who comes here.
The group will of course welcome them all!!

I have seen some similar comments, but I don't know what their basis are - while FTN may not have not lauded their efforts (understandable since we have been trying to build our own base), I am not aware of any time when FTN has either downplayed or degraded their efforts.
Regardless, it is admirable that the Zap folks have looked beyond that issue and recommended to their members that they join our group. And you are right Tony, we will welcome them with open arms.
