$5 for FairTax Challenge / Sustaining Mo. Donor Challenge

At any rate...

Wanting to find out which states are ready to join this challenge and then make sure that a lock box at AFFT is created because once a congressional district reaches 25, $5 sustaining monthly donors,  a % of the $$ will flow back to the state to fund events/etc.

There are plans underway to seek "LARGE/ELEPHANT" donors, but they will be more willing when they see that WE are willing to pony up too!

WE need BOTH

•  a few contributing a large amount and
• HUGE NUMBERS of us contributing smaller amounts.

My reasoning behind the challenge is because I'm pretty sure MOST Americans are pretty competitive and we can challenge one another within our our congressional districts and between states.  Set goals of reaching X number of Sustaining monthly donors by such and such date.

The stats could then be posted in EVERY FairTax Friday at the bottom.

Those states who want to join the challenge would get a "stat" of current sustaining monthly donors so when we LAUNCH this fund raiser (April 15 is my desired goal--at all the rallies we'll be attending) we'll be able to see the progress PER DISTRICT, PER STATE...

But it will take time to get those stats and that is why I'm putting this out there now to see who wants to take part and then I can make a call on Monday or Tuesday of this coming week to get Lock Boxes created and current ustaining monthly donor stats.

It was presented to me that approx. $50,000 is needed to maintain basic operation costs of AFFT...(note there are only 4 paid staff in Houston). They are legal arm to umbrella all the states, deal with all the IRS paperwork which alone is huge! 

That number for me was a huge eye popper because even if I work 40hrs a week every week of the year I don't make that much money so the task seemed daunting...but then after mulling it over I came up with this:

we have 425 Congressional districts...

divide 50,000 by 435 and we get $115

That is $115 dollars PER DISTRICT

which when divided by $5 that is 23 sustaining monthly donors

EVERY congressional district has at least 400,000 people...and we only need 23...round it to 25 and here come a percentage back to the our state!!!!

Do you sense the synergy?  The 25 ... $5 a month sustaining donor challenge is soooo doable!
